Purdue 4 star qb decomitts

He doesn't know the correct name of the school he's been committed to for several months and then he throws in a ouple of subtle little slams on the Puke coaching staff.... either they don't understand that you can't take a commit for granted... or... the kids an a-hole. Sounds like a little bit of both.

"Some members of the coaching staff for attempting to make me feel welcome".

That's an interesting line. It seems to imply he was getting the cold shoulder from somebody, which is pretty freaking weird with such a high-profile recruit.

His lead recruiter is at Ole miss now. Idk. A week ago he was talking about how much he loved Purdue and was fully committed. My guess is he just needed an excuse. Not looking into it much.

"Wasn't going to play anyway because of Brady Allen"
Purdue really wanted him. Would have been a nice QB to compete with Allen. A lot of people on the Purdue board had mentioned that and some thought Collins could have been better. With that being said, Allen softens the blow. As does sitting well with the really good indy QB in 2024.

Guessing LSU is his likely destination but yes FSU has almost missed on some Tier A guys and now pursuing Collins as a back up option.
FSU and Oregon both made runs at him already. Oregon was waiting on the guy they got and there was real worry Collins was going to FSU, then he came out and said he was all Purdue. Until LSU called I guess. Haha its LSU. Almost guaranteed.

My favorite was the "lapse in communication". Somewhere, there's a broiler assistant crapping bricks.

His HS coach poured a little gas on the fire.

I'd take that with a grain of salt. His lead recruiter moved on to Ole miss and a week ago, he talked about how great Purdue was. Has me worried in no way shape or form.

This was a nice pickup by PU, but in my eyes they always felt like just a placeholder. Once the QB dominoes started to fall, everyone knew the top tier programs that didn't land their first choice were going to start going through their list of QB's that they still wanted. Most of those programs don't see PU as real competition on the trail, especially if the kid isn't from Indiana. If it wasn't LSU, someone else would've gotten to this kid. UGA, ND, A&M, and UM were all possible schools who don't have a QB in the class. Collins is a premiere QB and surely would've been snapped up by one of them if his hometown school hadn't gotten there first.

I'm sure the sentiment is quite the opposite on the PU board, but I liked Collins a lot more than Allen. Both look talented on film, but the level of competition Collins is facing in HS compared to what Allen played against is night and day. If two QBs are the same rating, and one of them is from the south while the other is from the midwest, give me the southern kid every time. Allen could very easily be a less highly touted version of Hunter Johnson or Brandon Peters, Collins really looks like an elite prospect and would've had no problem carving up slow B1G west defenses.

Really, they are two completely different players at QB. Collins is an elite athlete with a good arm, but his motion needs tighten up a tick imo. Allen is a pocket passer that can make all the throws. I think both will end up being really good with time. Would have loved to have them both! Hopefully Purdue can get Danny O'Neil this fall to soften the blow of Collins.

I would agree with this sentiment. Some of the top end QB's Indiana has produced the last decade have been pretty big busts.

-Gunner Kiel
-Brandon Peters
-Tommy Stevens
-Hunter Johnson
-Donovan McCulley

All with the exception of McCulley, who is still young, eventually fell behind on the depth chart and ultimately transferred out.

Word Is that he got quite a few DMs from UP coeds and that was enough for him to conclude that UP wasn’t the place for him.
That is a awful visual this early. Thanks for that.

I do hope he finds what he is looking for and has a good healthy experience.

Who was the Indiana QB that led LSU to the national championship? Wasn't he from Jasper?
