for Georgia, Tennessee, and Notre Dame. Not bad for a non-football state (dws). Now, if IU can only figure out how to keep a few of those guys at home.

I would challenge the non-football contention, maybe in the past , not today.

Agreed, though our recent experiences with some of Indiana's top-rated kids ( Allen, Kenney, Latham) have not turned out as well as we would have liked. Indiana high school football continues to grow and improve and this will only help IU going forward.

If the smoldering pile of cow manure and tractor tires that currently poses as a football program in W. Lafayette continues, IU should have its pick of kids who want to stat close to home and play BigTen football. Mallory was able to seize this opportunity during his tenure here and hopefully Wilson can benefit as well. Nothing will help more than being able to demonstrate to recruits that they can come to IU and spend Christmas break preparing for a bowl game in a nice, warm locale. That is the step of the ladder this program must climb in order to become relevant with the best high school players both in Indiana and across the country.

Latham has lived up to his billing on the field. He is an All B10 level player, no complaint there.

Not from me either -provided his recent alleged transgression is not something that renders him ineligible or results in his dismissal. If he is dismissed, then it's fair to say all three recruits failed to benefit IU in a meaningful way.

You get them by winning for several seasons with multiple bowls and top 25 appearances.
