Presidential odds

Here is a clip from one of Swanson's messages at the event in question.
He basically said what I said before. The Gospel of Christ needs to be preached before all homosexuals, adulterers, porn addicts etc. He said he was NOT in favor of our government killing homosexuals.

Rev. Wright wasn't even that much of a nutjob. Lots of pastors preach that our own government does bad things. When it's some conservative white pastor preaching that legalizing gay marriage will result in hurricanes, no biggie. But some urban black preacher has the guts to say our government screwed over blacks, and it's a national emergency! It's telling that a man like Van would equate Wright with Swanson. Just goes to show you that Van isn't just a homophobe, but a very solid racist, as well.
roflol. Wright isn't a nutjob. That says enough right there. Can you point to me at what min and second Swanson said what you have said he said. I listened to the whole segment and I will admit I am wrong if you can show me where he said that he wants gays dead later in America.

Yes, because he wants to give them time to repent.

What if they don't repent?

"Illegitimate divorce and remarriage". There isn't much difference in his mind between this and homosexuality. They need time to repent.

According to his findings, looking at porn, which I'm sure is anything beyond a woman's ankles showing, once a month is considered an addiction, and that 80% of young men who repent have confess to this addiction. Can you really imagine what his idea of porn really is?

If you don't repent of these things you are, in his words, "Worthy of death." This nut bag thinks it goes beyond a "death sentence". This is about God's judgment. So it's not enough that you or I aren't gay. It's that my neighbor can't be gay either, or we're all doomed.

If you align yourself with this nut bag, you aren't far behind him.
Bloom, he is not talking about what the U.S. government should do. He is talking about repentance towards God. I'm sure a lot of men who hear that in God's eyes porn use is the same as committing adultery they should repent realizing they have sinned against God. In the long run that is what preachers who believe the Bible to be the Word of God try to steer people towards. We want all people to realize they need to get ride with God. It in a real sense has nothing to do with the State. We don't worship the State. We worship God and call people to repent and to trust in Jesus for their salvation. BTW, good to see you back. Where you been?

What min and second? The whole goddamn video.

You're a sick farker, Van. And a bad human being, and a shitty Christian. I hope hell exists just so you can burn in it.

But that's not what he said. He said death sentence later.

You can't just take everything someone says and play it out metaphorically, or you could just dismiss anything anyone says as rubbish. So if I can't ever believe what this man says is sincere and based in the real world, there is nothing he can say I should take seriously.

You don't worship the state. I get that. However, your life isn't affected if your neighbor watches porn once a month. You don't need to worry about what he is doing with himself or to himself. Now, if he tries to make you watch porn or your kids watch porn against their will, now you have an issue. You can make that about sin, but at that point your neighbor is infringing upon your right to not watch porn.

You don't need to steer people. Just steer yourself.

When I went to church, probably 40-45 Sundays a year until I was 19, youth group Sunday night, Bible study occasionally on a Wednesday, at no point was I told I had to worry about what my neighbors were doing. This was never the discussion. We could bring a friend, but it we weren't in the converting or injecting our faith into others.

It's when you start doing that it becomes an issue.

Religion has two problems as I see it:
1) Literacy
2) Science

I'm not getting too deeply into this, but I will bring up one issue where literacy is a problem. You don't believe in the 10 commandments. You'll say you do, but you don't. Not as they're written. So what should we believe?

Either you believe the Bible word for word, or you believe it to be a literary work with various interpretations that change over time. The 10 Commandments proves this, and if the word of God can be cherry picked, it's not worth much in the context of "Word of God".

I have no issues with people who live their lives according to their religion, assuming they aren't doing physical harm to themselves. Like a friend of mine who tried to commit suicide because the woman he had sex with wouldn't marry him. (Nothing like taking the quick path to eternal damnation if you feel it's inevitable.) The issues come when you try to impose it on someone else. Us talking about it isn't imposing it upon me, but Kevin Swanson is a nut job. If given the chance, he would be to homosexuals what Hitler was. Purity implies a lot of bad things.

Wow....been catching up on this thread. It truly sucks and it's making my head spin.

Cruz is a nasty human being. Like I said before, he makes Trump look tolerable and that is a scary thing.

The real issue is not whether Jesus spoke negatively about it. The question is did he ever speak positively about it. In Jesus' day the Jews believed that homosexuality was a sin before God because the Scriptures taught this. Therefore since Jesus never mentioned the subject did not mean that He went against the teaching of His day. It meant that He agreed with it. There are a lot of Scriptures where Jesus said these words, "You have heard it said." For instance
Matthew 5: 21 “You have heard that d]">[d]the ancients were told, ‘You shall not commit murder’ and ‘Whoever commits murder shall be e]">[e]liable to the court.’ 22 But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be f]">[f]guilty before the court; and whoever says to his brother, ‘g]">[g]You good-for-nothing,’ shall be h]">[h]guilty before i]">[i]the supreme court; and whoever says, ‘You fool,’ shall be j]">[j]guilty enough to go into the fiery hell.
27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery’; 28 but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Jesus many times would preach on what He did NOT agree with when it came to the teachings of the Pharisees. Since homosexuality was not brought up then He would have agreed with the teaching of the day that it was a sin against God. Now let us be careful. Jesus died for the sin of homosexuality just like he did porn usuage (see verse 27 again) lying, hatred, and every other sin. To say that homosexuality is a sin does not mean you hate the homosexual. It actually means you love the homosexual, and those with lust etc because you want them to come to Christ as you have.

I don't believe that it is primarily what people do that bothers believers in Jesus. We are worried about their souls. This life is just a fragment of our eternal existence. Christians believe that and want everybody in Heaven with them. Now in this life we can't say that something is ok and fine if God says otherwise. It doesn't mean we are gonna storm your house and haul you off before a judge. But we have to believe that right is right and wrong is wrong whether the world agrees with us or not. BTW, you never did say where you have been. I have missed you.

lmao. You should probably refrain from posting here if you can't respond to what is, in all honesty, an EASY question to answer. The Jesus you "trust in" said absolutely nothing about homosexuality. Nothing. Where have you been?

So he said nothing about it but we are to infer that he thought is was wrong? That's fantastic. Awesome. So when again did you personally decide to be attracted to women?
