But, but we didn't play anybody, lol.
Looking at the schedule, I felt like a 7 win season was possible or even 8. I figured we’d go to a bowl game but after the MD game I thought 10 or 11 was possible.
One thing I didn’t realize is that the first round of the playoffs aren’t bowl games so technically a team could have a great season and not go to a bowl game. I’d rather be in the playoffs but also want the bowl victory win.

I was "optimistically hoping" for 8-4. Further hoped that IU could land a bowl bid in a warm sunny locale. Icing on the cake would be to actually win the bowl matchup.
Yeah I wasn’t aware how many bowl games were being consumed as part of the CFP- but I’ve been acutely aware that IU’s best football season ever could be over on 22-December. I have full confidence in Cig going forwards, but Ohio State showed we are not athletically gifted like team or teams we will face in CFP- I wanted Rose Bowl but it can’t happen boo
I didn’t think this was possible. Maybe we pull off a big upset in two weeks and if we get to a neutral site who knows…

Look at the OSU game without three STs mistakes and the score is within two points. It and the second half of Michigan and OSU was the only time I wonder about our OC. If he doesn't come up with answers every team will blitz IU to stop the passing game.
Quickest way to shut people up is go through both of the teams in the SEC championship…. A boy can dream! But the upside is that CCC has already proven himself capable of turning reality on its head.
I agree that the shrewd pick by Dolson to bring in Cig, and following that up by providing significant resources is something that I truly appreciate as a long suffering fan.
Imo this playoff game is the biggest IU game since the ‘02 final. CFB is so big and it’s incredible to be in the mix.

Now with the CFB playoffs, bowls per se have lost their luster.
Yeah the play-off means a fan might have to travel for 2 or 3 games. In addition bowls used to host the teams for a week before the game, play off likely pulled all the wealthier bowl games off the table. I guess IU will have to win CFP to play in Rose Bowl now- not talking UCLA home games but the Parade of Roses event ya know

I assumed IU would bowl this year, I trusted Cig was huge improvement over Tom Allen, and we should’ve bowled last season if we didnt lose every close game

I think Michigan and Ohio State overall have better line talent than ND.
I like our chances in Touchdown Jesus’ embracing arms.

I’m not sure I predicted 11-1 with a playoff game coming up, but I did expect a thoroughly entertaining season. Enough so that I organized a group of friends and invested in the SEZ Suites at $25k. That’s kinda like putting your money where your mouth is. First time ever buying season tickets. Worth every penny.
I think the OSU and UM games are the first time the players and coaches had seen talent like that in their present positions. Need some quick hitters to open areas for blitzes. On at least a couple of the OSU blitzes, the middle was wide open.
