Pregnant and Need Advice...

My husband told me to post this to try to get some advice.... so hear goes. I am pregnant with my second child and the delivery of my first child has my cervix... not normal. Anyways. I have been going to a specialist to decide if I need a cerclage which is a stitch to help hold the baby in. Here's my diloma... my cervix looks like it might be strong enough to hold but the birth canal is larger than normal. My doctor does not know if as the baby gets bigger if my cervix will be able to hold the baby or not. Normally, a cerclage is no big deal but with me they would have to do it abdominally (basically like a c-section). My doctor doesn't have a clear cut answer on whether or not I should have the surgery. He says it is up to me. Another thing not on my side is that my 5 year old daughter has to have open heart surgery in June and the stress that I am going to be going through will probably not help with my cervix. SOOOO.... should I have the survery or not? Oh and I have to make my decision by tomorrow because this has to be done by a certain time. Please help!

This is still better than a post from RCab....

Also please identify your husband by his handle. We need to know who owes us some serious HLA (he'll know what that means).

Are you sure you have the right place?....

I'm not sure this is the best place for your question.

I say have the surgery though.

oh honey

haha you came to a message board full of dudes asking advice about C-section surgery? you have some balls, but since nobody is giving you advice yet...

go with the surgery only if you can financially afford it (how much is covered by insurance?) and you think your (and your baby's) health is at risk

PS - do you have a wide vagina?

Was the pregnancy the result of legs over shoulders sex?

You could have avoided this whole ordeal......

^^^ Ha ha ha ha ha ha .. ^^^ ...

You make me laugh ... see, that post can only be funny if "you" read it...

NOT FAIR!

Makes my post look ludicrous! Plus, placement of the apostrophe suggests both legs over one shoulder! Is that possible!?

By George...

I think you've got it! And pity the poor reader who tries to understand my responses!

Wow.

Your husband must really have it in for you if he told you to post that here, of all places... but, there are a couple docs on this board who may be able to answer your question tomorrow.

However, I'd say go with the procedure if you can afford it.

You can't be serious...

If you are, get the cerclage, unless you like hanging out in neonatal ICU's. After that, never come back here for advice more intensive than what Phish CDs to download or what narcotics to mix with your alcohol.

If this is a joke, it is in very poor taste...
