My husband told me to post this to try to get some advice.... so hear goes. I am pregnant with my second child and the delivery of my first child has my cervix... not normal. Anyways. I have been going to a specialist to decide if I need a cerclage which is a stitch to help hold the baby in. Here's my diloma... my cervix looks like it might be strong enough to hold but the birth canal is larger than normal. My doctor does not know if as the baby gets bigger if my cervix will be able to hold the baby or not. Normally, a cerclage is no big deal but with me they would have to do it abdominally (basically like a c-section). My doctor doesn't have a clear cut answer on whether or not I should have the surgery. He says it is up to me. Another thing not on my side is that my 5 year old daughter has to have open heart surgery in June and the stress that I am going to be going through will probably not help with my cervix. SOOOO.... should I have the survery or not? Oh and I have to make my decision by tomorrow because this has to be done by a certain time. Please help!
