Purdue is not a really good team. But they are getting offensive rebounds and entry passes. Indiana has not been getting defensive rebounds. Brunk was not feeling well. Race was injured.

Indiana has had a week to prepare. They needed it.

Just don't let Purdue get comfortable at AH.

Will Vitale be surprised if and when RMK sneaks up on him and says "You talk but you don't say anything."? Let me just say that I will really be surprised if Coach Knight ever shows up at an IU game at AH.

Purdue can't score points but can shoot... IU can't shoot but can score. Both teams are at best mediocre. To me, this is a classic home team wins kind of season. I am a Boiler through and through but IU wins 60-53.

The players know who RMK is and that him showing up is a big deal. This team feeds off the crowd. I would expect they have heard from Buckner, Thomas, Garrett and Smart that are in town for the game. If they don't play hard today, they never will.

the bigger factor for IU winning today is that IU had the week off, and Pu had a game.

I will be jacked, but I also realize that many fans sadly have never seen IU as an elite program. First IU game I have the DVR set for, as it may have been in the VHS era that I last taped a game, VBG.

I was going over my pre-season projections last night and noticed that I had IU 16-6 at this point. If we had just not had the crucial turnover in the last minute vs Maryland we would be meeting the baseline projection, even with a lot of bad basketball mixed in.

My projections had IU going 6-3 over these last 9 games, which I thought would put them in line for about a #5 or #6 seed, depending on what happened in the Big 10 Tourney.

Obviously, I hoped we might outperform the baseline projection, but, since my projections had IU much higher than the experts, I figured just meeting the baseline would be a success.

Today's game is huge! I'm thinking maybe I've been a little too pessimistic considering they really aren't that far away from being on track to having a really nice season. Long winded way of saying that I'm suspending the pessimism and going back to the well again to pick IU to get a huge rivalry win!
