Postseason play is now expected at Indiana after the two-time reigning Hoosiers appeared in the College World Series and garnered a national seed. While first-year head coach Chris Lemonis has the pedigree to keep the Hoosiers playing at a high level, it will take a mighty effort to keep IU from falling towards the middle of the pack. Kyle Schwarber and Sam Travis were a once-a-decade 1-2 punch. Add in Dustin DeMuth and you have three players that single, or triple-handedly can change the fortunes of a program. All three are gone and it will be interesting to see how the Hoosiers generate offense. While at Louisville, Lemonis helped guide offensive units that were aggressive on the bases, stole bases and relied on more gap-to-gap power than over the fence power. Indiana isn't constructed to be a team full of burners. Casey Rodrigue has good speed, but after he, it's hard to envision a current Hoosier swiping 15-20 bags. Even though they lost 6-4 to Xavier on Thursday in an exhibition, one positive shone bright in senior DH Scott Donley. Going 3-for-3, Donley has the ability to anchor the IU lineup and take stress off of others in the transition of offensive schemes. He, Chris Sujka and Brad Hartong should be looked at as the leaders in this New day of Indiana baseball.

Go Hoosiers!
