Obviously, it's great to see a three game winning streak. Although the teams the Hoosiers have beaten in those games are not playing well right now, I think this team has looked better on both offense and defense (not always though). A few people on this site have said the Hoosiers would probably have won two or three more games if X would have been healthy (and good) all year. If that had been the case, we would be 20-10 and 11-7 right now and probably be in the dance. Add to that where we might be if a couple guys on the bench had performed the way we were expecting/hoping. I think coach Woodson truly believed X was going to be a consistent, high performing leader on this team all year and that Gunn and Banks and possibly Sparks were going to be significant contributors. I think Woodson feels worse than anyone that this team didn't have someone to take the point guard leadership role he envisioned this year. That's why I think a huge point of emphasis is going to be on getting a couple really good guards with experience for next season. (Also hope Newton is special.) I know the offensive scheme has looked stagnant a lot this year, but I think better of late, more movement and anticipation. Good shooting helps, too. What I am saying is I hope Woodson is becoming a little more creative and with the right personnel next year (NIL), things could be a lot better.
