in the IU football recruiting ranks continued for the 2013 class with the (apparent) transfer of Myles Graham...
If my numbers are right, it looks like 8 of the original 24 who signed LOIs (see link below) for the 2013 class are no longer on the roster, either because of academics, leaving early, dropping football for track (Young) or whatever...... including (4-stars) David Kenney & Taj Williams, plus Kris Smith, Daryl Chestnut, Maurice Swain, Evan Jansen, Myles Graham, and Anthony Young.
Many of us - of course - had high hopes for great contributions for many of these recruits.
It is the nature of the beast nowadays, I suppose, but it must be tough for coaches to put in so much work to get so many valuable LOIs, only to have so many not work out for whatever reason....
The good news is that among those who stayed, many (if not most) ARE great contributors....
Hopefully, the 2014 group will begin to stop the bleeding, long with the need to fill the recruiting "gaps"- as Mark mentions - from the past.......Looks good so far, but maybe too early to tell......(I get the impression that the addition of coaches Knorr, McDaniel, and NoJo has helped with retention on the defensive side...)
