Just got in and turned on the game. This was his first series?
Pretty damn impressed with that.

To say he has a great arm would be an understatement. Very impressive. Stevie Scott and Reese Taylor ain't chop liver either. Our future is bright, but I've said that a hundred times.

Ramsey all day..
Everyday. .
Every down..
Best chance to win period..
Penix has a great zip on the ball. Big upside for sure. But think Ramsey has been solid too and very confident. Very good situation for IU.
I think we saw all vanilla D this week, to gauge against another team what his guys can and can't do 1 on 1. From here it's a matter of putting in - and the team executing - schemes that will place the guys in the best positions to emphasize what they can do and cover for what they can't do.With Allen’s D history, he can’t be pleased. What’s his next steps?
That’s a very IU football response. Good work.I think we saw all vanilla D this week, to gauge against another team what his guys can and can't do 1 on 1. Did you see even so much as a D-line slant last night? I saw a few occasions when we brought a LB and/or DB on an obvious passing down. Other than that . . . I didn't see much in the way of scheming. That’s a very IU football response. Good work.
The D was suspect. Call it what it was.
I like Ramsey as a starter to establish a base line of competence and control in the game. I like the option of using Penix as a change of pace - a little stronger arm, a little more athleticism - to ratchet up the pressure on the defense . . .
. . . and then bringing Ramsey back in for competence and control . . . I'd hope that would be demoralizing to a defense.
He’s right. They were vanilla. They did struggle, but did so while allowing 327 yards and 3 turnovers, including a pick six. I think Allen can work with that. That’s a very IU football response. Good work.

I think most of us saw a defense that struggled with the fundamentals. Being lined up correctly. Getting off blocks. Getting a push at the LOS. Filling gaps. Scheming is a great and essential part of the defensive game plan, but the fundamentals have to be there first. They were decidedly underwhelming last night against a pretty modest opponent missing nearly all of their skill from last season and without reliable quarterback play.Did you see even so much as a D-line slant last night? Same with the OL.
Were you seeing something else?
MP looked poised for his first game action. Will need to keep getting him reps in games and gain experience. You can see the arm strength with his throws.Penix is one calm, cool collected dude. He looks so at ease out there. Love that kid’s poise. I felt so comfortable with him in the game. And Ramsey is a game manager that is smart. I like our offense. Defense scared me to death. Lot of work to do. LBs and secondary need to get up to speed FAST! DL looked gassed.
Allen needs to put in some double time with those guys. Very disappointed in the DL but will take the win. Need sacks!
