I think this interview with Steve Schmidt is spot on in terms of what is wrong with today's American political system. Our republic is being destroyed by nuts (on both sides) on cable news, talk radio, and social media. As he says, statesmen and women are not going to appear on cable news networks because they're boring. People who incite are the people who make news and drive ratings.
Fascinating interview with someone who understands the history of American politics and why it's completely broken now. We can't have a functioning government with a Legislative Branch that is completely polarized by loons on both sides. (I know everyone thinks I'm a loon!!!)
