Yep, we recruited him. He was one of the "big four" kids from Indiana that year. Whiffing on all four was one of the last nails in Crean's coffin.
Southport was ranked very high during the 2015-16 season when Brunk was a senior and Scruggs was a junior. They lost to New Albany and Romeo in the tournament that season. It was one of Romeo’s better performances in high school.Scruggs was at Southport, and I'm sure played with Brunk, but didn't he end up transferring to a prep school somewhere? Seems like I recall hearing that SHS got to a regional, but that should have been a pretty stout team, and I think they were pretty highly ranked at least 1 season. I was thinking they also had a shooter that was generating some college interest, but I think he also ended up leaving SHS.

Although Romeo wasn't an unknown at that point, that game elevated his profile significantly.Scruggs was at Southport, and I'm sure played with Brunk, but didn't he end up transferring to a prep school somewhere?
