Pasteur HR in the 3rd, IU, 1-0 after 3 innings

Pasteur finds UL pitching to his liking. Temp is somewhat similar...

to what they had at PSU with the feel-like temp at 36. Not quite as cold. More rain is not far off, so hopefully they won't have to play in it before the game is over.

Love to see that zero in the last column...

and the same in their first column! Nice bounce back win! I said yesterday this game will show us an awful lot about the character of this team. Very glad to see it show up like this!

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Freshman Isaiah Pasteur hit the first two home runs of his career, batting in three runs, as No. 19 Indiana shut out No. 7 Louisville, 3-0, on Tuesday at Bart Kaufman Field.

The Hoosiers, who have won 13 of their last 14 games, snapped the Cardinals' seven-game winning streak and won their fifth consecutive game against Louisville.

Pasteur led off the bottom of the third inning with his first homer to left field, a solo shot, and then repeated the effort again in the fifth with Will Nolden's sacrifice bunt.

IU, which matched its best start in the three-year history of Bart Kaufman Field at 7-0, held Louisville to five hits and didn't allow a single Cardinal to reach third base all game.

The Hoosier pitching staff was outstanding once again, chalking up 12 strikeouts -- the fifth time in the last six games that Indiana has tallied 10 or more.

RHP Scott Effross received the start and tossed four innings with a team-high five strikeouts, while allowing just two hits to earn the win.

RHP Austin Foote came in for Effross to pitch 2.1 innings and strike out four while giving up just one hit.

The Cardinals threatened in the eighth inning, placing runners on first and second with zero outs, but Luke Harrison pulled IU out of the jam, retiring the next three batters in order.

Ryan Halstead came on in the ninth inning to strike out two and earn his team-high fifth save of 2015.
