I suspect all those lawyers are insurance defense. Anybody who even mopped the floors in that building will get sued.

Really sad. Sounds like a report from 2018 advised the bldg had serious structural damage.

A buddy of mine said a local reporter there said a ton of bldgs on that strip built before 90 in north Miami Beach to Hallandale are sinking and they’re doing so unevenly. Many are condos north of a mil. Could be numerous condemnations on that strip

That’s rough. Those are hefty assessments and you obviously know no one thought there was any chance of this happening. How many buildings fall....sad stuff

The town may be the deep pockets. Two weeks after the 2018 report one of their people, I think an inspector, spoke to the association and said the building was in very good shape.

For sure but that can sometimes be a real mess. There’s sometimes sov immunity, no punies, state legis approval, depends on gov activity engaged in, blah blah blah. You’re right but from a plaintiff’s perspective that’s always the least desirable target even tho you’d think otherwise. Definitely a target tho
