Today here in Maryland was one of those summer days that started out sunny and humid with the temperature gradually getting hotter and hotter all day long until it peaked around 98 degrees late this afternoon. It made me really happy that we were fortunate enough to have put our pool in 20 years ago. Now that I am "semi-retired', I really love to float around in my pool chair and just kick back.
Then we started seeing the storm warnings on TV. It was rather fun to sit on the front porch (in my IU chair) and watch the storm build and build. It has developed into a very windy storm with lots of lightning and thunder and extremely heavy rains.
As I have gotten older, I find that I really like to watch extreme weather. There is something about a large snow fall that fascinates me. I just love to see the snow slowly getting deeper and deeper on our porch and in our yard. And now we have a pretty good summer storm to watch.
Of course, not having to drive home from work in the middle of a storm does make it more enjoyable!!!!
