"Tonight we are having another Planned Outage. It will begin at 2 a.m. PT and last for approximately 2.5 hours.
The first 30 minutes will be a full outage, as we are updating we'll be finishing our upgrading of databases.
The next two hours will be scores of load tests. This will be testing all of the gifts that Yahoo co-founder David Filo has given Rivals - including 13 new databases, a new network and 100 new servers. The ultimate goal is use the final two hours of the Planned Outage to ensure they all work harmoniously.
The outage time will help us find any possible bottlenecks with the new system and help us prioritize our work over the next few days before NSD. We are expecting our biggest Signing Day ever, so we are hoping these upgrades help.
Rivals might start rolling out the new message boards as early as Sunday. They will start with their main recruiting board, as well as the smaller sites. I am assuming that means that we will be given the green light mid-week.
