Normally I would think this WC material, but I would be interested in what people think of this that are less politically inclined, or at least not so much into the right vs left thing. I just don't want to be directed to some Q forum talking about essential bodily fluids or whatever the left equivalent might be... no offense intended, to each his own.

So, a buddy sent me a link yesterday to a series of articles, pleading me to read them. Dude sends me stuff all the time that I don't read, because frankly his interests bore me to tears. With all of the downtime, I've got some interesting (to me) sports research projects that are keeping me occupied to the point that I haven't even been basketball posting.

Anyway, I took a look just to get the general idea so I could pretend to have read it and get back to my projects. I know it's not right to do my buddy that way, but he can be very intense, so he brings it on himself in a way. Surprisingly, it was a super interesting series that I had to read through a second time... and it's far lengthier than what I can usually stand without actually holding a physical copy in my hands.

Here it is, it's long so if nobody reads it, I get it. I'm doing my day out of the house shopping etc. today, so I'll check in this evening for comments or further links.

The very close relationship of those in government service and those in industry has been questioned. It happens in a multitude of arenas.

This story is about Emergent BioSolutions. It is a drug company that is traded on the NYSE. It's stock has remained stable in these times...which is notable. This link is to the Motley Fool site and discusses the company from an investment in stock perspective: https://www.nasdaq.com/articles/is-emergent-biosolutions-stock-a-buy-2020-03-23

In fact, Wiki has a decent summary of information on this company. One line in there is potentially loaded and I quote: "Emergent, under its previous identities and since, has been the subject of Congressional hearings and FDA action (official action indicated (OAI) and voluntary action indicated (VAI)) since its founding."

I tried to find any bias in The Last American Vagabond as reported in media bias sites...and it wasn't reviewed. But the title of the article does have much more inflammatory words than used in the article. And the article is slanted, in my opinion, to make a case that Emergent Biosolutions is taking severe advantage of the U.S. government.

While the case is strong that that is so. With my quick reading, there is little attempt to get the other side to make it's case. In other words, do they provide generally and specifically the service contracted? The article seems to say that in certain cases they don't. But, they keep getting bailed out by the USA.

Motley Fool, in their review of the stock, seems to me to imply that it is a decent stock. It also seems to say that they wouldn't buy any stock simply because it is developing a vaccine or whatever to fight Covid-19.

Emergent Biosolutions has a multitude of irons in the fire. They grow through acquisitions and by selling sole source to governments.

Interesting article, but the writers seem to have an agenda in my humble opinion. But their agenda may just be the right one.

Taking it one step further, if Emergent Biosystems is taking advantage of the USA, then the USA is a willing partner and enabling it.

Sad but not surprising. The link is to a pre lawsuit article on the Sackler family of Purdue Pharmaceutical fame and includes the cozy relationship they enjoyed with the FDA (the FDA agreed that the time release formula of OxyContin made abuse impossible even though you just had to crush it for immediate 100% dosage as an example). The budget right now for the CDC is $40 billion/year and it goes for what? Every time a Coronavirus mutation shows up we get the same old ridiculous model forecasts from the CDC and suspect counting guidelines and it turns out they haven’t done any research on the last mutation. The enormous money in the health sector has led to pervasive corruption.

General Mattis was on the BOD of Theranos that was eyeing a huge DOD contract before it became clear the technology didn’t work at all.

Thanks for the response and thoughts. There are so many aspects to this story that almost defy belief for someone who really doesn't follow these kind of stories typically, like myself. It's insane to think that many of these same people are going to be responsible for providing us with a vaccine down the road, which will hopefully allow our lives to return to normal... insane!

That said, someone who typically doesn't follow college sports recruiting might be shocked by recent revelations that we sports fans just shrug off, because that's just the way it is. Perhaps pharmaceuticals are much the same in that we want to enjoy the benefit, but, if we only knew the backstory, we'd be much too scared to use them.

Another weird thing about Emer. BioS. is that the writers imply that the management is really looking for catastrophies to turn to their benefit. It goes further than that...who knew ahead of time that OBL was plotting to use airplanes against USA? Always a step ahead...probably set up the virus in the Chinese lab too. Tin foil hat stuff...

When I read through these articles it seems more a case of manufacture the hysteria then manufacture the vaccine. Sweden is doing it the old fashioned way with no quarantines and immunity developed normally and death rates not anywhere remotely close to the model predictions. Their population then will have sufficient immunity going forward that the virus can’t transmit and dies out in there. There is data that suggests a prior widespread viral exposure has provided immunity to this virus for a large number of people. No hard data yet from antibody testing that I have seen but anecdotal reports indicate that very many people have immunity to this virus already. My belief is that the hysteria for this virus has been nurtured and this seems consistent with the timelines shown in these articles. Also the case they could have been involved with the initial release of the virus but the hysteria associated with this virus is the most important step in any event.

There is no doubt that still increasing global population and urbanization provide more opportunities for mutation. In the past a new problematic Coronavirus mutation (MERS, SARS, and likely other unidentified) appeared say every decade but that likely to shorten with ever more people packed ever closer together. If this becomes the standard response then everyone will be spending a lot more time at home in the future. Influenza viruses also have growing opportunities to mutate.

There is huge profit potential in hysteria and viruses are an excellent way to manufacture hysteria and vaccines an outstanding way to profit from it. With say tens of billions of dollars profit potential there are smart capable people that will be willing to disregard ethics on a large scale to target that money.

I watched a few videos made by another member of this investigative reporting team (not the author of the above articles). One of his videos is based on the timeline below. Of course there is so much that we don't know and won't for a long time, but, now that I'm into it a bit, I'm interested in looking into alternative news sources that any of you might be using. So point me where you will and I'll try to use the little discernment that I have to sort it from there. Thanks in advance!

June 14, 2019– CDC finds US Institute of Infectious Diseases at Fort Detrick, VA non-compliant with its pathogen control agreement.

June 30, 2019– Unidentified pneumonia in Springfield, Virginia nursing home near Fort Detrick, VA, 15 minutes from Fort Belvoir, VA, where the US team trained for the Wuhan Military Games.

July 9, 2019–The White House withdraws its only US epidemiologist embedded with China’s CDC. Why?

July 9th, Report of vape pneumonia 100km southeast of Fort Detrick, VA. The lung images showed the Covid-19 ground glass shadow. Still unexplained.

July 12th, 2019–Respiratory outbreak at Springfield, Virginia assisted care facility, near Fort Detrick, v kills 2, sickens 54. A third patient dies four days later. Deaths remain unexplained to this day.

Jul 14, 2019–Chinese researcher escorted from infectious disease lab amid RCMP investigation. Public Health Agency of Canada describes it as a possible ‘policy breach,’ no risk to Canadian public. Did she discover the Covid-19 outbreak?

July 17th, 2019–A pneumonia epidemic report reported at a nursing home in Burke, VA,56 minutes from Fort Detrick, VA. It remains unexplained to this day.

July 26, Virginia State Health Bureau takes measures to prevent the spread of the pneumonia epidemic, including stopping collective activities, screening residents, and extra cleanliness.

August 6, 2019–CDC shuts down America’s main biological warfare lab at Fort Detrick, VA, an unheard-of civilian intervention in military affairs. A senior scientist describes the atmosphere there as one of “fear and mistrust.” The CDC refuses to provide details.

Aug 26, 2019 — The Virginia Department of Health confirms three cases of severe lung illness associated with the use of e-cigarettes, known as vaping.

September 2019–A nationwide outbreak of a mysterious pneumonia causes severe respiratory problems in hundreds of people, kills 54. So-called ‘vaping-associated lung disease’ shares same symptoms as Covid-19 and images invariably show the same bilateral ground-glass opacities.

To date I have stuck primarily to peer reviewed research papers on these subjects and drawn my own conclusions. I have looked at SARS and MERS research, influenza pandemic research, research from Wuhan, general pandemic research, and good quality data from the Diamond Princess. I was honestly shocked to find how poorly the CDC has funded research on Coronaviruses. There has been controversy if these viruses are transmitted in aerosols and I was completely shocked to find there has been no good quality research on the topic. I concluded one of the possibilities was that these studies have been done but are classified as part of bio weapons research and another was that the CDC had misallocated most funds to HIV research or some combination of these.

I found your timeline above incredibly interesting (I knew nothing about the events in Virginia) and will start looking in different directions and will post links as I find them. I would appreciate if you do the same with new info that you find.
