Only one small thing that has dampened my morning

It's been mentioned several times that p u is the worst team anyone has ever seen play but I think it's important to note that our guys Made them look that way last night...

I've watched several p u games just to do some pseudo-scouting to be able to discuss them on here and the truth is that they do have some talented players on that team and gave a couple of Big Ten teams all they wanted...

They lost by 1 to Illinois at Illinois in OT, lost by 6 to Northwestern in OT, and just lost by 7 up at Michigan State right before they played us...

My point is not to laud p u but to point out that our TEAM made them look that bad last night... If we hadn't keep our boot on their throats, start to finish, they were perfectly capable of making some runs... Our guys never gave them a chance to even believe they had a real shot at doing so...

That was a good Win, start to finish, and we made them look that bad, never giving them a chance to even consider being competitive... Other than that QB fumble, all the rest of their fumbles and interceptions were Forced by our guys...

Credit where Credit is due... That was some Great Defense & Offense we laid on them last night...

Now their coaching staff is a complete joke but they're not completely devoid of talent as evidenced by their games at Illinois and up at M$U...

Assuming a good coach will go there.
Like I have said many times over the years on Peegs. Coaches don't think like fans. I grew up with one, only on a high school level. They still don't there either. A coach will see a B1G program, B1G tv money, and he knows HE IS the guy that can turn things around and win. They will have plenty of applicants for that job.

They have to make a commitment they have never made before to football. An established coach will command $7-8 million easily plus a huge bump in NIL. And last time they settled on an unproven 36 year old assistant.

They need to get their $$ figured out. They appear from the outside to have been so resistant to NIL that they're way behind and still not wanting to do it in the manner the current environment demands. That would be a big turnoff to a lot of coaches.

Purdue needs to look at KSU and Kansas along with IU and Colorado to see where they need to go for a HC. I doubt they will but the writing is on the wall as the way to go. SEC teams need to figure it out too when they have openings - go for proven HCs.

It was suggested by the announcers that Cignetti’s method may be the new way to go. PU will have a new coach and he may bring a stable full of talented and experienced players with him. Things today aren’t the way they used to be.
This makes sense to me. In the coach candidate interview process a school might ask “what players do you think might come with you?”

IU said they had no money too but came up with what was needed in pay and NIL.

Yeah, we decided to do it for football too. We made the decision to embrace before that with the hoops program. Purdoo doesn't appear to want to do it for anything. Daniels' open letter set the tone for their ongoing resistance to NIL.

Again, just an opinion based on being on the outside looking in.

Fingers crossed they don't fix their NIL and that plus their lameness scares off coaches.

I think the PUkes are so cheap they are actually counting on that Profit Sharing money in 2025. You are right. Coaches will want that NIL pot.

Yea, if they count on NIL getting capped/limited once the rev share starts... that's not a good strategy. I doubt the big schools are going to give up the big NIL that gives them an advantage. Players could go to court too.

I guess once the NIL court case is solved, there will be even more to follow it. Non stop ... once you have that kind of money being paid out ... you can't decrease it by law just to control it. As they say "the gate is open and the cows are out of the pasture" .... They have to move fast otherwise they miss the Portal Window ... ask Washington how that turned out this year.
