He was Pac12 freshman of the year. He was solid in the NCAA tournament, led his team to a win. He's a very good pickup no matter what On3 says his portal ranking is.
Good point to call that part out, yes. McDaniel is talented, but I've long thought a central measurement for a point guard should be how successful their team was. Michigan was horrible.
wonder what changed? rankings don't matter just seems unusual. how does one player leapfrog another in the off season.

There is actual college game tape of Rice. For sure don't trust Fatjohn types ranking these dudes. They hold that position for a reason, no college or NBA teams would hire them as scouts/ evaluator.
...I could never expect less of a rating outfit...maybe it's aimed at Rice with the intent of disparaging IUBB...
No one is playing and therefore no scouting is being done. This change was probably some glitch it their system when they ran an update. Not that I care we know who MR is.
You have him confused with Carlyle. Rice was never fringe top 10 unless it was very early in the process before the portal filled up.
