OG Annunoby

I knew OG had been hurt this season but just saw he’s played 40 plus games and is averaging 17.1 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. Nice season. He’s been a great pro and only 24 years old.
OG is a stud. Wish he didn’t get hurt his last year. Was about to lead us to the elite 8. Right @twenty02 ?

He is a different cat too. For sure comfortable in his own skin.

really wish we had been given the chance to see him more in an IU uniform. He didn't start a game his frosh yr and got hurt and missed half the season his second yr. Only started 10 games his entire career at IU. We were still 13-6 (and hovering at the bottom of the top 25 after getting to #3 after the Maui win) when he got hurt with a good shot at the tourney, but finished 5-10 after his injury and NIT bound. His injury might have actually been the final nail in CTC's coffin at IU.

No one can doubt Crean’s ability to identify talent that others missed. The Annunoby class featured 3 future NBA players. Only one of them was so much as a 4 star recruit.

Crean would be a marvelous assistant coach. It's that coaching basketball thing he isn't too good at. He was the best used cars salesman the Midwest had ever seen.

Just seems like one of those guys who will always be hampered by injury.

Alot of the positive attributes I saw in OG, I think are also present in JG!
I had a post related to this the other day. IU players in the NBA have had a horrible time staying healthy. OG, Eric Gordon, Victor, Romeo, Thomas Bryant, and even Cody. All have had major injuries or reoccurring.

I swear Romeo has something every other week.

I get what you are saying, but that's if you divorce his ego from his abilities. At this point, I think he always thinks he's the smartest guy in the room and his ego would prevent him from being a good assistant. And, I think he's douchey so, he'd probably piss off most HCs at some point.

Just like Mike Davis would have been and excellent #1 asst coach for someone. Especially in SEC country. He helped landed us Newton, Moye, Perry and early friendship with DJ White. I’m sure I’m missing someone.

It does look like some kind of morbid pattern with IU players in the league. However, when you look at the rosters in the NBA as a whole, there are a significant amount of players missing a significant amount of games (or being "rested") lately. The Pacers the last 3-4 years have been a complete M.A.S.H. unit (Brogdon, Warren, Turner, McConnell, Duarte, Levert, Oladipo, Sabonis when they were in the Orlando bubble, the list goes on and on). The Lakers, Nets, Celtics, Heat, Bucks this season have seemingly constantly had important guys out for long stretches. I don't know what that's about, whether it's lingering attrition from the compressed seasons before and after the COVID shutdowns, but it seems like a crazy high level of injuries to me.

I wonder if Cody will find a new home? I guess he could play in Europe but I would like to see him in the NBA.
Been wondering the same. Google him every few weeks but been quiet since he got hurt. Maybe he'll land somewhere this summer. He was very effective in limited minutes off the bench for Portland.

Definitely a bench guy at this point in his career.

I'm hearing the pacers have some interest in signing him
