Having graduated from both schools...I am guaranteed a win in this game!
Wisconsin is favored by a couple of points...and is 4 - 2 in the last six games. They win it by making plays in the final 5 minutes. That and their big man Ethan Happ.

But Indiana is scrappy...again. Has started to play much better and has stopped letting scoring runs against them happen.

Thompson, Hunter*, McRoberts, Phinesee, Davis...all are back. And it is a home game.

If Davis can defend Happ...then Indiana wins.

IU 74; UW 68

This should have been happening all season. And it will be fun. And not only am I an IU homer...and a guy that believes that the cup is half full...but I'm also a quart low. I got not just my tail frozen while up in Madison.

*I stand corrected: Hunter is not playing during games...

I just don't see any way that we score 74 points against Wisky. We'll be lucky to break 60. Doesn't mean guaranteed to lose, just no way we score like that.

Whenever I see a team described as "scrappy", I point out that that's only 1 letter from "crappy". In this case, I think we can skip the s.

As for tonight's game, my main question is which 3 pointer shooter will end up screwing us over this time.....Trice is at 43%, Davison at 41%, Reuvers 39%.

My second question is the over/under for Happ having both Morgan & Davis with 2 fouls each in the 1st half........I will go with 8 minutes.

Going back to question #1, Davison best fits the expected profile of a little white sharp-shooting guy with limited game that sinks a late contested 3 to seal the deal......Wisconsin 64, IU 62.

If they hit their FTs IU beats both Iowa and PU. They are playing better ball with a healthier lineup. DD and McBob play a role tonight.

Hunter is not back. He is taking part in non-contact drills only. My guess is he will remain in that status until late summer barring any setbacks.

Pretty much where my prediction lies as well. I'll go Wisky 58 - IU 48. IU laying bricks and missing free throws.

Wisky shoots 30 free throws.
The key is Wisonsin does not turn it over and shoots the three ball pretty well. Neither of those are things we do well. I would your score looks abourt right as we go 4 of 23 from three pointers.

We are up 55-53 with 11 seconds left and Davidson puts up a desperation three....and misses!

However Happ gets the rebound and lays it back in but is also fouled, even though the replay shows that he wasn't touched...and then he sinks the freebie.

Wis 56
IU 55

I was with you right up until Hap hits the free throw. I think he misses the FT, but due to a lane violation, he gets another chance and makes the second.

Haha. I think most likely they drain a three win two seconds left to win it by one.

i'm aware of that. merely pointing that out to the guy who started the thread

Happ tips in a missed 3 at the buzzer while falling down. Wisky 59 IU 58

IU down by double digits early. Climbs back in. Makes several boneheaded plays to push the lead back out for Wisconsin. We fade down the stretch missing several free throws.

Fred has hot dogs on sale mid way through the 2nd half.

Students are a no show. Fans hit the exits with about 3 mins to play.

The question is will Freddie boy behind the bench screaming and yelling like a lunatic?

Well, well...not being someone who pats himself on his back...it's about time that when I predict IU to win, IU WINS!

My prediction was IU 74; UW 68.

And to those of you that said IU couldn't score 74 points...you were kind of right.

Tip of the hat to the players for their play for the full time of the game. Race looked good. DD came in after being ill and was a player. Juwan was Juwan all over the court. Romeo too. Indiana hit 3's in the first half to loosen things.

And to those of you that hate Dakich...there is a mute. He does overcompensate for being a Hoosier. And he says stuff just to get a reaction. And it works. I'm a Dakich fan but I do not listen to his radio show...and I'm glad he never was IUHC.

Great win!!!!

Oh by the way...congrats to this poster for the fab prediction. Heh. Ow...strained my arm.

Glad we won..... but we're just fortunate that some no-names like Davison or Pritzl didn't t-off on us last night with a rain of 3's.

It's always games like these that players with only 2 annual minutes per game..... come him and hit unconscious 3's for a career
high 21 points or 24 points against us. At the end of regulation and both OT's..... and I was just waiting on Wiscky's 3 to start falling.
Well... I guess they did... to tie it up.... but we finally overcame.

It's a mystery to me how you can be a Dock Itch fan. I'm tired of him wanting to **** IU over, whatever his motives. And no longer care what his motives are.

I was just glad to see someone shoot free throws as poorly as we did... :D

They basically gave us the game, we didn't take it, except for Romeo's shot.

If you doubt that, ask yourself how many times a team misses 6 FTs in OT and still has a chance to win.

That said, we gave Purdue, Iowa & OSU their games, so it's nice to get one in return.

Romeo made a winning play. Teams don't give anything in 2 OT games.

I sort of feel bad for you if you can't be happy with a win.

I agree with the perspective that, at times, he blasts IU. Some of it may be spot on, some not. But his grandstanding and rhetoric I cannot abide with and won't listen to it.

But I thank him for being a player at IU. He gave his all both on and off court. That goes a long way in my book.

He also did the best he could as a coach at Bowling Green State U. in Ohio, where both of my daughters graduated. He over-controlled and was a disciplinarian which didn't help in recruiting some players. Ultimately, that gig soured.

He also was squeaky clean. Which is more than some coaches we all know.

Finally, after Bowling Green, he accepted the job at IU on the coaching staff. Sampson's cheating and that of Myers went on before Dakich arrived. Ultimately Dakich was appointed acting HC. Why? Why was he made acting HC over others? I speculate because others had much more exposure to the cheating than Dakich. And because of his being a disciplinarian. We all know what happened next. It wasn't pretty and was controversial when Dakich turned out players that weren't doing what Indiana University required.

Maybe he felt he should have gotten the HC job. Glad he didn't...it would not have been a good thing in my opinion.

But, if you want to play into his hands by hating on him...which is exactly what gives him more notice...and raises his marketability...well, go right ahead and hate.

Kinda like the line in Brad Paisley's song Celebrity, "The more they run my name down the more my price goes up."

Dan knows exactly what he's doing.
