Ok, this is what we have all been waiting for. Indiana Hoosiers in the hunt in the B1G. A road game against a talented B1G team. Maryland is 13-3 and IU is 12-3. Both have one loss in the B1G. Both tend to start slowly.

Lots of injuries to IU's players. Ugh. Get well soon! Next man up.

Maryland has two 6'10" players. Their inside game is outstanding. They win rebounds both ways.

They have a more than decent PG.

They just beat Minnesota on the road...nice big win.

IU doesn't win on the road, much. Can't hit a decent percentage of 3's. Under 70% of free throws. Juwan tends to foul twice early in big contests. Game is over, then, likely?

Lots of prognosticators saying the obvious...Maryland by a few.

Hold up there, pardner. IU really is good inside of the 3-pt line. IU gets assists. Maryland really doesn't have a signature win other than Nebraska at home...barely. Seton Hall beat Maryland at home. How?

Seton Hall plays an effective zone. Their defense had Maryland slowed. Maryland gave up on three's when they stopped going in. Maryland's bigs scored. Maryland brought the game under control but the last 4 minutes were Seton Hall's. Maryland won the rebounds and steals, fouls were even. Seton Hall won at the line (86%) and with defense and hit the critical shots to close.

Maryland's bigs and their PG will determine the game tempo. Maryland may switch to zone at the half. If Davis and Phinisee don't play then Juwan will have his hands full. Unless Romeo draws fouls on their bigs and AD hits the shots. Maryland may just turnover the ball too much. But probably not.
Both teams play in many close games.

Who wants this more down the stretch?

Maryland 71 - IU 72

Keep TO's low (need to build on Michigan game)
Get off to good start.
Keep Romeo/Morgan out of foul trouble.

If we do all of that, it's still gonna be tough. I like our chances, though.

Hoosiers, 76-71.

Turnovers will be huge in this game as well as leadership (Morgan) If you look at last 5 games, ft% is up but Morgan still struggles. This team hates to lose and will fight to the end win by 5 76-71

Any team that has multiple, talented/athletic big men (Bruno could very well be a lottery pick in a few months) and can also throw a zone at us, with the way we've been shooting from outside....that combo has me extremely concerned about the results tonight. Morgan needs to stay out of foul trouble and J Smith better wake up with a chip on his shoulder this morning.

Hard to really speculate on game results right now, as we don't know until game time who will on the active roster.

I don't have a good feeling about this one and think IU will fare worse here than they did at Michigan, even though the Terps aren't as highly rated. I think we'll start to see the fatigue factor set in. Maryland will be pumped after beating Minny on the road and back in the friendly confines of the place called home. IU doesn't have the mental toughness to win on the road against a decent opponent. I'm sorry, but Bob Knight spoiled me.

Maryland 78 - IU 65 followed by the injury excuse - a legitimate one at that.

Turgeon's teams have often had a big size advantage inside against us and their teams shot a lot of bad 3 point shots and lost. I hope he is still dumb and hasn't learned anything.

Idk....UM 73
IU 70.
Hopefully we sack up. . And pull one out...
At full strength. ..IU all day...
But will it ever happen the rest of the season. .

At Minnesota, Maryland went to 2-3 zone in the 2nd half and turned a close game into a blow out closing on a 35-13 run. I'm expecting Davis will not play meaning we'll be a little over-matched inside -- certainly nothing new for us. We'll have to hit jumpers, stay out of foul trouble and keep Maryland off the offensive glass to have a chance in this one. And which I predict we can do!
IU - 68
UM - 66

My biggest concern is adding to the already lengthy list of injured/banged up players. Having a depleted roster means more minutes/wear and tear/fatigue and opportunities for these types of things. Like a dang snowball of pain! Don't see us pulling this out as much as i'd love to see us pull out a great win. Just stay healthy! IU 68 - MD 78. Go Hoosiers!

Turgeon sucks as a game coach (seems to be a pretty food recruiter though). That's the only thing that will keep this relatively close. MD 70, IU 62.

I dont see us winning. Every edge seems to go towards Maryland in this game.

Twerps 72
Hoosiers 65

The wear factor concerns me too. Do we have any football players that were good HS basketball players? That could log a few minutes ? I remember a few over the years when there were injuries. Ross Hales I know at least could come in and bang under the glass a bit. Antwaan Randle El and Quinn Buckner aren't walking through the door but just some bodies. That probably doesn't happen anymore though.

This season is starting to look like a lost cause.......reminds me of when Gordon got hurt and could no longer shoot 3s.....discouraging!!
Yeah, lost cause. (dws)

Phinesee will be back anytime. Next game after Maryland, Davis likely will return. And we have a group of players that are getting valuable experience in close game situations.

IU is playing in the B1G tonight on the road and the game may be a tossup.

Others are still predicting that IU has a good chance to be in the top 5 in the B1G at the end of the season and in the tourney...definitely.

We have two first team B1G players...and a really good coach. And this team plays a tough defense...that is going to get tougher. What happens if IU hits 5 3's or more a game...or when we hit 70% of our 3's?

How the heck is this starting to look like a lost cause? Just remember, other teams also have to be on the road with young, incomplete rosters.

With the perspective that few were thinking that we'd be sitting 3-1 in the B1G now how could this be looking like a lost year? Come on!

Morgan and Romeo have to stay out of foul trouble, we keep turnovers low, play solid D, and Rob has to be back. IF these things happen...IU 66 MD 62. If not, we lose by 15.

I understand Rob won't be back but IU can still pull this out.

We need Davis tonight against their bigs...
If Davis can play and give us 10+ points and soak up some of Morgans fouls. We come out fired up and play great d for 40 minutes. Morgan and Langford gives us 20+. <7 turnovers and McRob has a lot better game then he had against Mich (he gives opp struggles not other way around)
Maybe just maybe well by 2 or 3

Otherwise im going to assume we dont have him nor Phin, with McRob coming off the bench again in rough shape.

Iu 62
Maryland 70

Could have been a whole lot worse. We basically lost by 6..... cause we hit the 3 pointer with 1.2 seconds left in the game to make it a 3 point loss.
But I was really concerned when Mary went on her run.
