Will Hall (Tulane OC) - Really strong head coaching resume. Did a year internship under Norvell as Tight Ends coach and then took over Tulane with great success. Run heavy offense. https://tulanegreenwave.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/will-hall/1179

Jake Moreland - Western Michican OC- Putting up big numbers in two years as OC. Coaches the line which is attractive. Improved their offense after taking over for Kevin Johns who was a respected OC who went to Memphis. Likes to run the ball which is attractive.

Rob Sale (Louisiana) - Does not call plays and coaches the offensive line. He's be a great fit as a Run heavy offense. Works for Billy Napier who is one of the brightest offensive minds in the country. Napier is the next Norvell. https://ragincajuns.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/rob-sale/1140

Austin King (Dayton FCS), - Here's a wild card. Don't know a lot about him but he's putting up crazy numbers at Dayton in FCS for the past couple of years. https://daytonflyers.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/austin-king/3847

Joe Lombardi (Quarterback Coach Saints) - If Joe Brady has a Sean Payton franchise that works in college maybe Joe Lombardi does too. Had one lousy year with the Lions, but who is good with the Lions? He's Vince's grandson, if you want to think outside the box, this guy has done ok with with Drew Brees. https://www.neworleanssaints.com/team/coaches-roster/joe-lombardi

Andrew Breiner Mississippi State - Joe Moorehead is one of the best offensive minds in college football and this is his long time OC and understudy. Should get a hard look. https://hailstate.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/andrew-breiner/2173

David Yost - Texas Tech OC - the guy has coached for some of the best offensive minds in the game at Mizzou and under Leach. https://utahstateaggies.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/david-yost/58

Christian Taylor - Some great numbers at San Diego. Seems like a rising star. https://usdtoreros.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/christian-taylor/1334

John Hevesy - Florida CO-OC and line coach. Dan Mullen is one of the best offensive minds in college football and this guy has been with him forever. Worth talking to. Probably would not leave Florida. https://floridagators.com/staff-directory/john-hevesy/592

Billy Gonzalez - Florida CO-OC and receivers coach. Maybe a play calling opportunity would attract this Florida CO-OC to leave. https://floridagators.com/staff-directory/billy-gonzales/591

Phil Longo - UNC OC. If we want experienced and a turn over the offense to the OC guy, this would be a good candidate. https://goheels.com/staff-directory/phil-longo/3091

Joe Beschorner - Minnesota State - OC Another interesting unheard of candidate.

Out of curiosity, why are you looking so heavily at o line guys? I think we should be looking at a quarterback guy. Although I do think Sheridan did a good job while he had the quarterbacks. I do see Gonzalez or Hevesy as play callers. I do think Hevesy is one of the better o line coaches around and Gonzalez has some studs at receiver.

Not looking for line guys. Their just happen to be a couple who have strong resumes. It's tough to hire a line guy unless they coach tight ends. I believe we looked at Texas A&M's guy last year and he was a line guy.

Wouldn't be shocked to someone like Nick Sheridan getting promoted.

What about bringing back Kevin Johns? Currently at Memphis.

I brought up Will Hall a couple of weeks ago on the Premium Board (along with some other FBS guys like Ryan Pugh, Jim Zebrowski, and--courtesy Mark Milton--Kevin McGiven (I've seen San Jose State's offense in person, and IMO a healthy Penix could potentially thrive in it).

Also mentioned some FCS guys then like Christian Taylor, Ian Shoemaker, Kevin Cahill, Timm Rosenbach, Zach Kittley, among others.

Western Michigan's run offense is better, at least statistically, than its pass offense (25th vs 56th in FBS). And FWIW their red zone offense was only 92nd, which reminds me too much of Debord.

I suspect Sanford might end up back at Boise State. And it looks like NC State is now in the market for an OC--as much as I like Will Hall, I'd expect Doeren to perhaps go after him too, and maybe even Diaz at Miami could be interested in him as well.

I enjoyed Keen's EMU offense the other night, but I'm not sure it would fit IU's QBs (especially Penix) as well as it did Glass III.

if anything, I think the more likely landing spot in the B1G 10 this time around for Johns might be in Columbus, where he could replace Yurcich and be reunited with Kevin Wilson

not sure how good a fit he might be with Fleck in Minnesota
