Now that RMK was welcomed back, why not Sampson?

Let 'em all come back...Sampson, Davis, Crean. We'll welcome them all with opened arms. We'll even give them the golf cart tour of the facilities, new since their departures.
Did Sampson's contributions equate to Knights?
Much like our season, and shortly - our coaching staff, the topics on this board are slowly falling into the abyss.
Sampson did exactly what he was hired to do. The IU admin stood at the presser and said that what he did at Oklahoma “could never happen at IU”. Then it immediately did. Was it a lie, or are we that incompetent?

I don’t blame Sampson at all. It was all IU, we tried to have a program like Oklahoma and blew it.

He's just making up a pretend scenario. It's nothing more than something to help us get the disappointing loss to Purdue off our minds. Everyone knows Sampson and Knight aren't in the same league. I agree with everything you say.
Knight didn't get us in trouble with the NCAA. He didn't cause us to have three sub .500 record the first three years after he left. The second yr after Knight left we went to the NCAA Championship game.
Actually, Sampson didn't cause that at all. Dickich and Crean throwing every good player we had off the team is what caused it. We were top 10 that year, you think any of those players are gone had Sampson not got in trouble mid-season? No. BTW, I don't recall any incidents of off-court problems under KS. Those players did not care one bit for DD and it was obvious because we immediately collapsed after KS was officially let go. A lot of others don't care for DD either for obvious reasons. That was his revenge when he didn't get the job towards kids that didn't like or respect him. Crean didn't try to offer an olive branch to get any of them back because he was charged with cleaning things up and thereby made his own bed and our suffering for 3 years. It has been a while on KS, but I still recall many off court incidents under Crean, even Yogi got in trouble. Bad grades and pot use speculation is all it was with KS, I'm failing to recall of any off court incident with the recruits he brought in. If I'm wrong, remind me what it was and who? 12 years of watching bad bball since takes a toll on my memory. If Archie can't be responsible for our shooting woes, should Sampson have been taking tests for them?
