Isn't that the way most coaching hires are announced, just like this ?? But I agree, pull the trigger and announce, I am tired of being on forums and twitter all day and night

I'll give Scott the benefit of the doubt in that the leaks may be a version of last ditch "vetting" in the hopes that anyone with a horrible skeleton in the closet story steps up but if he truly believes he's found his Coach he needs to make it so within the next couple of days... That would give our Coach a little time to re-recruit the high school recruits and our guys in the Portal and identify who they need to to target other than our guys in the Portal... Time is our enemy, for gosh sakes Scott don't waste any more of it!

So, you really think that this "leak" is coming directly from Dolson or at least with his blessing?

I would think it is more from "reliable" sources and Dolson is busy finalizing the contract.
The last thing he would want is a repeat of the Stevens saga.

Ok, I loved his rant toward the NCAA - up until now, when it seems very likely he's going to be our coach.

Now I'm thinking - if we thought we often got jobbed from the refs before, whew, now we may only get calls when we face Harbaugh.

Maybe it takes time to get all the paperwork/contracts finalized

Absolutely but I am not convinced that it is coming from Dolson or even with his tacit approval.
There are too many people involved and too many people that want to feel important.
IMO, that is why information like this gets into the public domain.

No worries, it's seems to be limited these days to a single Big Ten crew that had the balls to outright screw us (but in both cases we could have overcome their point shaving No Calls had we simply played better on both sides of the ball)...

Maybe the sources are from the JMU side and not the IU side.

Wow, we’re actually going to get a coach with head coaching experience!?! Think the last 2 were not so that’s why I’m surprised….. but I think this is a great hire for us and the fact that we can get it done so quickly is a major plus

Or..., if necessary, just make it Official by a press release today with all the formal intros on Friday...

That all makes perfect sense but remember,we are talking about IU.
So I don’t see that happening.
