Notre Dame to face backup in Sugar Bowl.

That is the actual headline on a Notre Dame fan page.I had to read it twice to make sure I read it right.
The ND arrogance at it’s finest,I sure hope this makes the dressing room bulletin board.
Don't you know, they are the greatest thing ever happened to college football. They still think the "Four Horseman" are in their backfield. They still think Ara is pacing the sidelines and Lou Holtz is just a headset away. I even saw a post on X where this ND fan didn't think IU fans could afford scalpers prices for tickets.

They will find out soon enough this IU is not the old IU ... oh, forgot ... they think it was a big deal to beat USC 40-35 where 14 of those points were TDs after an interception, just because it is a historic matchup.

They don't want to recognize they beat the same PUke team we did, Army and Navy, a destroyed FSU team, a poor Stanford team and a low ranking UVA team. If you take out the Army FINAL record from their last 5 games played, their opponents were 20-23.

Man I dislike a lot of Notre Dame fans.
I THOUGHT I had decided last night to just stop trying to present facts and arguing with ND, SEC, OSU fans because they will never listen. What am I doing this morning ... back on X commenting to SEC fans and ND fans that replied to my comments. Then I come here and "help out" the ND expert that infiltrated the forum, picking and choosing his points for comparison.

It's crazy ... they all have one thing in common though .... they HATE that IU is in "their" CFP !!! 😄

The biggest mistake these uninformed people make is they see Indiana football and automatically think it will be a walkover.
It’s safe to say the clowns that put out crap like this have probably not seen a minute of one of our games.
I have a really good feeling about this,we need to come out a punch em in mouth.
If we can get through the first quarter without any stupid mistakes that put us in a hole,we can win this game.

Your lsat sentence nails it,I’ve commented numerous times how weird it is to see how many people are pissed because we had a great season, people are strange.

We’re gonna make it “our” CFP!

I’m telling ya, if (and it’s obviously a big “if”) we get past that first game, I like our chances to win the whole thing.
It is hard to believe but one game at a time ... with a great coaching staff and a team playing with nothing to lose. I agree. There are really no dominate teams in this playoff and there will be upsets also.

Reminds me of the 2002 Sweet 16 Duke game where before the game Coach K was overheard asking an assistant, “What time do we play on Saturday?”

Yes, he's one of many & he's the epitome of the reversible jacket fan, too.
I have IU graduate friends who grew up catholic with parents having ND season tickets. Obviously were diehard ND fans well before they then went to IU and of course our fball program was atrocious much like ND bball was. Thats why the dots connected on how some of these reversible jacket fans came to be. With that being said, they all root for IU football and have been pretty hardcore about it this year. Their allegiance is still with ND so this game is going to test their will power.

What I will say is they all genuinely think IU is an equal if not better team. ND doesn't do well in postseason playoff games.

I grew up in northern Indiana and I'm not sure I ever met a reversible jacket fan. I assumed that was something from the 80's/early 90's, when IU bball and ND fball were relevant.
You must not have been paying close attention. They're still EVERYWHERE up here. They conveniently choose whichever team is winning, often times. But overall, the general trend of ND football/IU basketball has held true. Even though both haven't produced as much as they did up through the 80s.

Twitter X has a guy talking about endowments being a gauge in the wealth of the alumni. Trying to make a case about IU being poor. 😑 19 billion vs IUs paltry 3.6 billion.

Those that don't understand the concept of what a reversible jacket fan is, or have never met one, or think our discussion of this topic is pure fantasy, they should read your post right here. This post is a great outline or way understanding the concept of the reversible jacket fan. 👍 👍 👍

I too am from northern Indiana and that statement is BS. I've met, known, experienced and seen dozens. Absolute "12's"!
And with most of them that I know, this is how next Friday will go.

Before and during game, ND fans through and through, making fun of IU, talking crap.

If ND appears to be taking control of the game...relentless crap talking, IU is little brother, how did we think IU could compete with ND? All of that.

If IU is competitive...a lot of silence until game is decided one way or another.

If IU appears to be taking control of the game...instant flip on Marcus Freeman, and flip towards IU and Cignetti.

If IU then wins, full on IU fan...glad ND lost, hope Freeman goes to Bears, love that IU is good, want them to win the Natty. All of that.

I'd call most of them not smart enough to get into either school, but that's probably not the case.

I guess I understand being a reversible if you're of a certain age and never attended either school. But if you attended either school, then you're a douchebag if you have split loyalties. A giant douchebag, in fact.

There are more than a few IU grads from up around here, that will be wearing Blue and Gold next Friday. But will claim to be "conflicted", and will flip and be just the biggest IU fans ever the following week, if IU wins.

I'm neither. I actually respect Notre Dame, and enjoy their tradition, and appreciate something like that being so close to where I live. In fact, if pressed on it, I'd probably have to admit that just rooting for the teams, I'd probably pull for ND over any team other than IU. The problem though, is their success means their fans would be excited and happy and would become even more smug. So, basically, F*@& Notre Dame!

This is exactly it. 👍 There appear to be numerous basketball posters who have IU degrees, love IU bb (or loved it past tense :)) & follow/support ND fb, and at the same time, hold no loyalty to IU fb. Now, I get the front runners that they are, they will now claim to be IU fb fans because of this one meteoric season.

...maybe even run Freeman out of town since they didn't want him from the day he was announced...also there will be no repeat insurmountable troubles as was the case at the Shoe...

That's weird to me. Who gives a s*** about a little catholic school in a crappy town in northern indiana if you didn't pony up the $200K to go there?

Grew up in Da Region. And by Region I mean Lake County north of the Little Cal. SB is paradise in comparison.

Yeah cause this board isn’t smug lol. Hell you can’t be a fan of both even though live smack dab in the middle of the two schools. Also in response to someone about getting into an institute…no I didn’t get accepted into ND but I did at Iu, PU but chose to go elsewhere.

ITT Technical Institute, most likely

Did you decide to leave out a win on the road at Texas A&M and a win over Louisville? I mean if you are gonna bash them, have all the facts up.
