This is absolutely crazy! I’m trying to understand the NIL (Name, Image and Likeness merchandising opportunities for all student-athletes), but this is over my head. This is the new way of recruiting and we have barely scratched the surface.

On3 NIL Valuation
“The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets the standard market NIL value for high school and college-level athletes.”

Where can I find a list of current college “payrolls”?

in other words :

College A has players being paid a total of $5 million, college XYZ players are making a total of $100,000?

I am hopeful that I can easily find such a list so I know who to root for or to root against. Especially with no salary cap. Some of it is just common sense: I know NU players are being paid less than Michigan players, but I’d like to see it actually broken down. David versus Goliath. Good versus evil. Dirtiest versus cleanest. What’s a fan to do?

New recruiting tools/toys. Wrong direction. Should have organized so every college student athlete on scholarship, man, woman or beast received something like $900.00 a month. Always gotta go overboard.

Random thoughts- and they confuse even me:

I remember when Miami did the big reveal and Lebron and D wade were on board. Seemed to be so easy to hate the Heat and the team that they bought, especially Lebron.

lately I’ve been feeling sentimental: I miss the simple days of class basketball. Instead, we have a college basketball environment where Things are so out of whack (from a rich versus poor standpoint), that lebron in a Heat jersey seems almost comforting, almost amateurish. As much as I hated the Heat, and that bought team of mercenaries, they weren’t nearly as bad as what is happening to college basketball.

edit: The Heat was competing against teams like the Bulls, and there was a salary cap. Compare that to college sports with boosters having no cap. It’s basically the Yankees against teams like Wabash college. I know who I am rooting for in that matchup.
