I put together a few of the news and notes from talking with Kevin Wilson today. Link below:

A few things to note that are in there and some that aren't.

--- Ryan Smith suffered a Lisfranc injury last winter and won't be with the team until after the season. This move, which is kind of like a redshirt but isn't actually a redshirt, will preserve his four years of playing time and his fifth year where he can redshirt.

---Austin King has been impressive in practice. Wilson was high on the redshirt freshman today. Generally, there wasn't much news on the QB battle, though.

---BTN stopped be camp today to film BTN live, which isn't actually live. It airs at 5 p.m. Monday.

---Freshman Coy Cronk has starters potential, Wilson said. He's pretty versatile. Don't be shocked if he gets some playing time this season one way or another.

---Camion Patrick was in full pads and ran around a bit today. He still can't cut the way Wilson needs him to to be near playing shape.

---Indiana is going to have a scrimmage tomorrow with game situations, i.e. third-down plays and red zone stuff. So that should be exciting. Practice, however, is closed to the media so we won't see anything. We'll just be asking about it.

---Brandon Knight has a "slight foot" injury. Robert McCray fell on his shoulder the wrong way at some point Sunday, too. Wilson didn't seem too concerned about their long-term health. Seemed to be minor deals.

---Wilson likes what the defense is showing him so far. He's a little thin on the defensive line, which he doesn't like. He was really impressed with the way Tom Allen keeps up with IU's no-huddle offense. He doesn't wait around.

Wilson on Tom Allen keeping up with IU's up-tempo offense: "He doesn't stress or panic on that. 'Hey, here's what we do. Here's how we do it. Let's just do it.' Where some other times you see some guys get rattled. He's like, 'Hey, no. Here's what you do and I want you to do this and do this now. Get lined up.'"
