I think we have five or six footballers on NIL deals now, but they’re modest compared to the SMU figures.SMU to pay all FB/BB players 36k per year
Is Title IX no longer applicable?SMU to pay all FB/BB players 36k per year
To date, it’s never been deemed applicable to NIL because nothing comes from the university..Is Title IX no longer applicable?
Because they were. You have to imagine their boosters are wondering what could've been for them if they hadn't been made the sacrificial lamb on this issue so long ago. They were so far ahead of the curve on this and the NCAA treated them like a villain.
The villain? No they weren't.Because they were.
Stay tuned. Is Title IX no longer applicable?
They greatly upped the ante in that cesspool and then, after they promised it had been cleaned up, they created a secret slush fund to keep it going. They richly deserved what they received. The villain? No they weren't.
For one thing, it was an open secret that basically every school in the SWC back then, and probably every major college sports contender, was giving out money hand over fist. They were just the ones who got caught. And secondly, what they were doing was the right thing. The NCAA just brought the hammer down hard on them because they didn't go along with the NCAA policy on treating players like chattel.
i wonder how they came up with that numberSMU to pay all FB/BB players 36k per year
$3,000/month. I wondered that at first, too.i wonder how they came up with that number
Seems small compared to what Alabama, OSU, GA can provide …. And here we go …$3,000/month. I wondered that at first, too.
Certainly, but it’s SMU, not Alabama, OSU, UGA … which fact should alarm some schools.Seems small compared to what Alabama, OSU, GA can provide …. And here we go …
Some ??? Price of poker just went up. But doubt it will for the big boys. IU probably. Just need the next B1G contract money. All schools are still giving money just more more and legal. Which is fine with me if they pay coaches these outrageous salaries.Certainly, but it’s SMU, not Alabama, OSU, UGA … which fact should alarm some schools.
