As you've seen, a brand new feature debuted here today. Since we have "Inside the Locker Room," we figured we'd stay with that general theme and call this "Inside the Film Room."

The goal is to go beyond stats, beyond simply what teams do and look at how they do them.

For example, a team may shoot well from 3-point range. OK. Important to know. But statistics can tell us that.

How is a team getting open 3s? What kind of screens are they using? What kind of action away from the ball? Are they scoring off the bounce or off the catch? Those kind of things.

One of the things we specifically looked at in the Maryland-Illinois game was how Illinois got open 3s. Maryland has been one of the best teams defending the 3 this year. How did an opponent that beat them get open shots from the arc?

Those kind of questions are things we'll explore in this new feature with the aim of helping you have a better feel for an upcoming opponent - what they do well and perhaps, as in the case of Illinois-Maryland - what has beaten them.

As we get started with this, it may be geared more toward the bigger games, but we're just getting going.

Hope you enjoy.
