This is the weirdest game. Both teams are running several offensive plays, gaining yards and first downs instead of 3 and punts. So bizarre.

Husker D’ looks faster than NU, as I think most would have expected.

Initial impression is that the Nebraska defense is vulnerable up front. Some gashing runs an swing passes.
They want to let their ends loose, so Northwestern caught them on a big screen play as well to the back.
I am very impressed by Northwestern and hope that out new QB is as good as theirs.
2nd impression-
Nebraska LB play. Open field tackles not there. That just boils down to athleticism.

Picture perfect drive to seal the game on the ground. Halfway there at 3:00.
Didn't score, but pins NB at the 3 with 2:07 to go.
Pundits continue to pay no mind to Pat Fitzgerald. He continues to be a great coach. One of the best in the conference.

It’s over! NW with the win and Neb with the heartbreaking loss with 3 turnovers and a pick to end the game. Frosty made a questionable onside kick call too.

“Questionable?” That’s one of the dumbest decisions I’ve ever seen in a football game. Up 11 and he goes for an onside kick.
I don’t root against many teams/coaches but Frost is way too cocky.

I could root for them when they had Pelini. Frost is a douchebag. He might not last the season.
NW rushed for over 200 and had a ton of penalties. Nebraska will be hard pressed to beat anyone with a run defense that putrid. Frost is toast.
Take a wild guess what day Frost’s buyout drops from $15 mil to $7.5?? October 1st…same day the Hoosiers come to town. Oh, that would be so great!!
Personally, I'm hoping they wait until after we beat them to fire him... He's consistently good for 8 points to the Away team... Would hate to lose that kind of edge...😉🍺
Opening loss that hurts their morale. They will likely lose to OU, best case 2-2. IU can hopefully be coming in with momentum and beat them too.

Perhaps the Wildcat strategy was to use the pass to set up the run: just daring the Huskers to overload the box. (After a 20/23 first half passing performance). And then (from a run look formation), the Wildcats out executed the the Husker D, picking up 3rd downs on the ground. (214 yds on the ground. 528 total)
Huskers showed they haven’t eliminated the mistakes.

Husker QB lost his ’mojo’ after getting sacked on 3rd down on the Wildcats’ first blitz.
Many throws after that were just off. Husker D’ looked like it lacked depth v. OL.

Nebraskas DL was pushed around like rag dolls. I don't know if NW's OL is that good, but those holes were HUGE.
I'd say he's more like their Cam Cameron - all American guy who comes home to his alma mater and falls flat on his face.
Cats O had Nebraska on their heels much of the game. Real Good mix of pass and run. Hilinski looks much improved passing.Hull and Cam Porter also ran well behind a better than I thought they’d look OL. Once they got the 31-28 lead, got a bit conservative, especially on 3rd downs, but Fitz believed in his D and punter. Fun game for sure. Frost is just so unlikeable. Fitz coaching in close games vs Frost in close games, is like night and day.
Wow. That press conference was rough. Scott Frost basically begging to keep his job.
Reports now indicate that Frost made comments after the game throwing his new OC and Offensive Line under the Bus. Guess that working your OL Hard enough to throw up 5-10 times per practice doesn't get it done.
