I saw him Friday at a high school game and I asked him, "How bad is Indiana?". He said, "I was at the Iowa game on the second row behind the scores table". He said," the people were talking" . I asked did they boo? He said no, "they all were coaching". Big money seats and they are coaching. Not good.

You're talking about Buckley aren't you? I sat behind him and I thought that was him. He's a scout for the Timberwolves now I think. I was mad when double D got the ball in the low block with 90ish seconds left and we were down 5 and he didn't take the shot. Kicked it out we shot a 3 and missed. If we would have cut it to 3 at that point, it's a whole different game. I agree with you that we were all coaching at that point. Since we don't have any outside shooting options IU has limited options. I do have have to slightly disagree with you on the "big money" seats. I'm no tycoon and those seats are only $53 a seat. Pretty easy to come bye now since the team isn't playing very well. Both top corners opposite the team benches were empty, including the balcony. I hate to say it, but this ain't our granddads Hoosier team anymore. The kids have better things to do, which is very sad to an old man like me that remembers our heyday.

Indiana basketball is about as relevant as Creighton basketball these days.

Not that bad but I hear you.

All it will take is another good class and an extra year and if Archie is the guy this thing will be rolling and the craze will come right back.

I’m as disappointed as anyone but other than injuries our main problem is crean players. I really hate that man for what he did to the program his last three years recruiting.

Patience, patience, patience Archie needs at least 6 years to complete “serious rebuild” your friend Fred Glass.

I was surprised he passed that as well but how is it different if it's a three point game? You guys couldn't stop Bohannon from getting the ball and he made 5/6 FT's.

Fred Glass oversaw those last 3 years and still wanted to retain Crean, hey why not we just GROSSED $123 million dollars

The granddads will never forget. We’ll always have the cobwebs between the banners to remind us of what once was. Back in the heyday you speak of, the banners would sway in the breeze from the crowd noise. Cobwebs were of no concern before the day that IU basketball died in shame.

No doubt this team has been hurt by injuries but I see uninspired play, shabby defense and lack of fundamentals. Those are not "injury issues." Those are coaching issues and I no longer feel Archie is the guy. In fact, I fear IU basketball is maybe one step ahead of the football program at this time.

Sadly basketball is still ahead of football.

Winning will solve that. I wouldn’t go to these games if I was a college kid either. It’s pathetic.

I talked to a good friend who’s still close to the program. Trust me...this isn’t going to last long. Moves are already being made.
Trust you? Based on what? Your record on being flat out wrong or the many posts on in which you lie, spew hyperbole, and/or pretend you're the only person who knows something?

I'll believe it when I see it. I certainly wouldn't take your word on it.

As you wish. Don’t forget who announced the Crean firing and also the Archie hiring the day before it was announced.

If "Moves are already being made", there better be a superstar in the wings.

There has to be a superstar available to be better than this clown show? At this point I don’t think there are many options that could be worse.

To fire a coach at this point, yea, there better be a superstar available, willing and agreements made.

You do know that Archie was acclaimed are the best hire in college basketball by various outlets, don't you?

Do you know more basketball than RMK? He said Archie could coach but patience will be needed. Maybe he was talking directly to you.

Agree. Must be sure to have someone great in the bag if we fire him. Otherwise, this will be all over again in a few years.

That’s just not how the real world works.

You don’t go behind your coach’s back to negotiate details of a contract with a potential coach. You just don’t. What if those talks fall through and it gets out?

You fire the clown and you go get a big name. That’s how it’s always done.

To be fair, you were wrong on Donovan and I don't remember the explanation.
He was also wrong when he guaranteed that a Clemson QB from Brownsburg was transferring to Purdue but he went to NW. Don't bother arguing with him because in his mind he is never wrong and have these huge connections LOL!

You keep saying that, but seriously, exactly which "big name" do you have in mind?

And don't say "throw 10 million at them & they will come.
That is too stupid to even talk about.

Steve Alford is available. It would be the perfect move for an athletic department/University that has been making terrible and asinine coaching decisions for the better part of 20 years to fire a coach who's struggling to implement his culture in just over a year and a half to bring in a legacy 'name' who has achieved even less and who couldn't maintain employment at another traditional blue-blood program because of his inability to produce results on the court.

Yes, yes I'm sure that moves are definitely "already being made"...

Jesus effing Christ...

more bold talk from Feepsy. Must be a high T day for you.

Moves being made. Didn't Archie sign a 7 year contract. I find it hard to believe there are enough big money donors out there for that kind of buyout money . . . even if it is done next year.

This thread borders on "flaming dumpster fire status". Just pure silly to think that it is a good idea on any level to fire your coach. He has been there 2 years...2 years. No one will come there that is worth a shat knowing he has 2 years to be good.

And while I am typing ...What has Steve Alford done to make you guys think he is an upgrade over CAM? Just silly... sure throw $10 mill at Donaven... that is about as practical as thinking Brad Stevens is coming to IU.

.

Uh.....that’s actually not true. It worked out fine for Kentucky. North Carolina pulled the trigger after 3 years and it worked out fine for them as well.

$10 million would get one of:
Brad, Donovan, Self, Wright

$6 million would get Bennett

The buyout is a couple months worth of BTN money. It’s peanuts.

This won’t continue for long.
