It's RHP Gavin Seebold on the mound for IU as they play two games today with Schuyler behind the plate. IU will be the visiting team. The batting order will be Brenczewski (DH), Taylor, Dickerson, Wiggins, Hanley, Cerny, Oliver, Moore, and Schuyler.

It's a great day weather-wise with it being sunny and 72 degrees at game time and the wind NNE at 4 mph with minimum gust at 8 mph.

T1st:

Brenczewski grounded out to start the game. Taylor doubled with one out.

Dickerson and Wiggins both Kd swinging to retire the side.

B1st:

Seebold put them down in order to include a K.

End of 1st: IU 0 MSM 0

T2nd:

Hanley led off and reached on an infield hit. Cerny then singled to put runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs.

Oliver reached on a FC with runners on the corners and one out.

Oliver stole 2nd. Moore Kd looking for the 2nd out.

Schuyler had a clutch two-out, two-run single to give IU a 2-0 lead.

Brenczewski followed with a two-run homer to RF and Taylor follwed with a homer to LF as IU jumped to a 5-0 lead.

Dickerson grounded out to retire the side as IU got five runs with two outs in that inning.

B2nd:

Seebold faced the 4 thru 6 hitters and he gave up a single to the leadoff hitter.

A WP moved the runner to 2nd and then Seebold walked a batter on a full count to put runners at 1st and 2nd and no outs.

Another walk loaded the bases with no outs.

Seebold got a big K for one out and the bases still loaded.

A SAC fly brought in a run with runners on the corners and two outs.

The runner on 1st stole 2nd with two outs with the runner on 3rd stealing home to make it 5-2. A K ended the inning and could have been worse with the bases loaded and no outs.

End of 2nd: IU 5 MSM 2

T3rd:

It's the 4 thru 6 hitters up with Wiggins leading off.

Wiggins doubled to right center. Hanley walked on a full count to put runners at 1st and 2nd and no outs.

Wiggins was caught stealing 3rd for the first out with Cerny striking out for two outs.

Hanley stole 2nd to put a runner in scoring position with two outs.

Oliver flied out and IU missed out on a big chance to add to their lead.

B3rd:

Seebold was back out there and faced the top of the order. A bunt to 3B put a man on. A flyout got the first out with the runner holding. A single put runners at 1st and 2nd and one out.

A four-pitch walk loaded the bases with one out and Seebold has struggled the last two innings.

A single scored two runs to make it 5-4. We squandered a scoring opportunity in the top of the inning but MSM is making the most of their opportunity. There are runners on 1st and 2nd and one out.

A K got the 2nd out. Seebold's PC is over 60. Seebold walked another batter to load the bases with two outs.

Another K ended the inning.

End of 3rd: IU 5 MSM 4

It was the 8 thru 1 hitters up for IU.

I lost my internet connection for a while and couldn't post updates.

Taylor got a hit in the inning but that was it for IU.

B4th:

MSM scored a run to tie the game at 5-5.

End of 4th: IU 5 MSM 5

Dickerson homered to CF as IU regained the lead at 6-5. Hanley grounded out, Cerny fouled out, and Oliver flied out to retire the side.

B5th:

RHP Henry Brummel had replaced Seebold in the 4th and in this inning Brummel faced the 6 thru 8 hitters and he got the first two batters on a groundout and K, but then hit the next two batters (No. 8 and 9 hitters) to put runners at 1st and 2nd and two outs.

With the top of the order up, Brummel got a flyout to end the inning.

End of 5th: IU 6 MSM 5

T6th:

It's the 8 thru 1 hitters up with Moore leading off. Moore walked with Schuyler grounding out on a bunt, moving Moore to 2nd and one out.

The top of the order was up in Brenczewski and he fouled out to LF for two outs.

Taylor got an RBI single to score Moore and then made it to 3rd on a fielding error in CF.

Dickerson walked and Wiggins lined out to retire the side.

B6th:

Brummel faced the 2 thru 4 hitters. Brummel gave up back-to- back singles to put runners on 1st and 2nd and no outs.

That was it for Brummel as Mercer brought in LHP Ryan Rushing. The top five hitters in MSM's batting order are a combined 8 for 14 in the game right now.

Rushing got a big K swinging for the 1st out but he then hit a batter to load the bases. IU has hit three batters in the game so far.

Another K got the 2nd out with the bases still loaded.

Rushing pitched out of the jam with another K to end the inning with no damage done.

End of 6th: IU 7 MSM 5

It was the 5 thru 7 hitters up with Hanley leading off and he flied out for the first out. Cerny was hit by a pitch to reach with one out.

Oliver Kd looking for the 2nd out. Moore hit a little blooper just over the pitcher's head for an infield hit to put runners at 1st and 2nd and two outs.

Schuyler was having a big game at the plate and got a clutch 2-out single to score Cerny and it was 8-5 with runners at 1st and 2nd and two outs. MSM went to the bullpen again with the top of the order up in Brenczewski.

Brenczewski was hit by a pitch to load the bases with two outs and the hot hitting Taylor at the plate.

Taylor clubbed a grand slam off the scoreboard in RF to make it 12-5 as IU has finally broken this game open. It was his 2nd homer of the game.

Dickerson clubbed his 2nd homer of the game in left center to make it 13-5. IU has scored six runs with two outs.

Hanley reached on a FC to retire the side.

B7th:

It's stretch time and Rushing was back out there to face the 8 thru 1 hitters.

Rushing walked the leadoff batter on a full count. Back-to-back flyouts got the first two outs with the runner still at 1st. A lineout ended the inning.

End of 7th: IU 13 MSM 5

It was the 6 thru 8 hitters up with Cerny leading off. On a deep fly ball, two outfielders collided with the ball ending up on the ground and Cerny ending up at 3rd with a leadoff triple. Both players required attention with a stoppage in play.

A replacement was sent into CF for that fielder and MSM also went to the bullpen with Oliver up. Oliver is 0 for 4 so far on the game.

Oliver walked on a 3-1 count to put runners on the corners and no outs with DeMartino pinch hitting for Moore.

DeMartino grounded out scoring Cerny with Oliver at 2nd and one out.

Schuyler popped up for the 2nd out and Ryan Gilbert came in to pinch hit for Brenczewski.

Gilbert hit a two-out, two-run shot to left center in his first at-bat this season to make it 16-5. Cole Decker came in to pinch hit for Taylor.

Decker walked on four pitches and Dickerson reached on an error to put runners at 1st and 2nd and two outs.

Wiggins singled to score Decker to make it 17-5, with Hanley up and runners at 1st and 2nd.

Hanley singled to score Dickerson to make it 18-5 and runners on the corners and Cerny up with two outs.

Cerny Kd swinging to retire the side.

B8th:

Rushing was replaced by RHP Trey Telfer, and he faced the 3 thru 5 hitters, and he got the leadoff hitter on a flyout.

Telfer then walked a batter on a full count as we are seeing pinch hitters so far for MSM. A flyout to CF got the 2nd out.

A two-out single put runners at the corners.

Telfer then walked a batter on a full count to load the bases with two outs.

He got out of the jam with a groundout.

They called the game at this point.

Final: IU 18 MSM 5

It took IU until the 7th to put some distance between them and MSM, and they scored 11 runs over the 7th and 8th to quickly roll past them. IU outhit MSM, 18-10, and had six homers, a triple, and two doubles in the game.

It turned into a blowout so I won't go into much detail on it. Both Taylor and Dickerson had two homers each on the game with Taylor really breaking it open with a grand slam homer.

It was Seebold's least effective outing on the season as he went 3.0 IP and gave up four runs all earned, while also giving up four BBs, and a WP. He had five Ks.

Brummel went 2.0 IP and gave up five hits with one earned run and one BB and five Ks. He also hit two batters.

Rushing was effective and he pitched 2.0 IP while giving up no earned runs, one BB, three Ks, and a hit batter.

Telfer pitched the 9th and got into a jam which he pitched out of, while giving up a hit and two BBs, and no earned runs.

IU had no errors while MSM had two errors.

Do you have any idea what was up with the MSM coach in the second inning? He was arguing with the ump quite awhile
