BS, is he Lebron? …. has been playin 82+ games a year since he was Morgan's age? Like for 14 years? No, if that's the equation I think ((Morgan === "Pussy") = true)

lol - You're emotional ..

plug it up.

This is something that will be interesting to watch with Michigan. They've been playing with a very short rotation since game one and their top five is logging a lot of minutes. They also rely on a lot of jump shots and drives and if those legs get late season fatigue, those shots are going to fall short.
Was thinking the same thing.

Hey, we’d talked a couple of years back about advanced stats and you mentioned a book to read on that - who wrote that again?

Wow..
He's suppose to be a elite 20 year old athlete.
Shines a different light on him for me...
Pathetic !!!

30 minutes a game out of position and undersized in the trench. Kid gets hammered physically with no backup now that Davis is hurt. Hell yes he is tired. No surprise.

Nuh uh!!! He ain’t got no heart!!! He ain’t got no toughness!!! If I was there on that court, I wouldn’t never get hurt or tired. I’d play 40 mpg and I’d average 20 rebounds a game cuz I know how to be in position!!! They teach that in kindergarten!!!

Well....it's not like he's asking for more time on the bench.....the coach is just stating his observations.

But I admit I'm starting to have some doubts about Archie---"We're asking him to do a lot on both ends of the floor"....are we not asking EVERYONE on this team to do a lot on both ends of the floor? Because it sure seems like some guys are taking some time off during the games and leaving all the dirty work to JM............I'd like to see Smith & Green looking a little more fatigued coming out of games.

I'm sure Morgan and Romeo are tired, bruised, and sore. Balancing rest and the need for practice time may be the biggest headache for Archie. It is difficult enough under normal conditions. His plans for practice have to be adjusted daily with so many injured.

Then again, you probably stayed in a Holiday Inn Express last night, too. ;)

What I don't understand about today's player is that they can't play big minutes any longer. Was watching some old games the other day and finally got to watch the IU/Maryland game from the 81 tournament. IU played a total of 6 players in the first half with 4 starters playing the hole half. In the second half we played 7 players until we were up 35 points with a couple minutes left in the game. If today's players are bigger and stronger and more athletic then why is it hard for them to play big minutes.

Green hustles, but I would like to see Smith work up a sweat. It may be that he wants to be smooth and cool like Romeo...but he ain't Romeo.

It's not the minutes played for Morgan. It's the minutes played against guys much bigger than him, which forces him to work harder. Just like last season Morgan is asked to battle every legit 6'8 to 7'0 in the conference, with virtually no help from anyone else.

A healthy Davis would help but he's dragging his leg around the court and hasn't done much of anything since the L'ville game. Unless something changes soon it's time to call it a season for DD and let him recover. The fact they are getting nothing from Race, Forrester, and Hunter compounds the problem.

Point is, they have to go with what they've got and that means Morgan won't be getting a lot of help.

Because the guys on the other team are bigger, stronger, and more athletic too. And the game is much more physical than it used to be. The Court's the same size. The dudes you have to wrestle with underneath to get rebounds are not.

Your question is like asking why it's so much harder to run a marathon uphill.

I think three factors argue against your point. First, there are way more TV TOs and other breaks in the action than in the good ol' days. Also, 90% of the really good college players (esp. tall, physical ones) leave for the NBA. Finally, basketball in general and college ball in particular has moved away from the thick, muscular, taller, slower centers ala Rowinski & Scheffler (sp?) from Purtue, Blab & Lindeman from IU.

Muscle, tendon, and cartilage strains don't heal during timeouts.

90% of the big men don't leave every year. Isaac Haas played 4. The Michigan kid is a senior. Fernando will play at least 2. Gafford from Arkansas played 2. And every year, those guys that do leave get replaced by new 18 years olds like Zion Williamson, who are just as big and physical. And the game is way more physical than it used to be. Just watched some of the IU LSU game from 81...kids barely touched each other, even on rebounds.

There are still plenty of big, muscular players in the Big Ten. Every good team in the country has good big men. We've seen several of them.

Basketball is not more physical now because you can't even touch someone without a foul being called.

Morgan needs to guard someone who won't get him in foul trouble. IU needs Morgan and Romeo on the court.
