I do not disagree. But it would be nice if guys wanted to play for us.
If a recruit wants to come play for Mike Woodson than he needs to get on a plane and come play for Mike Woodson.
Portal class coming. Woody doesn’t work at High school recruiting. Free agency man!
So what? It's a new world. Pay $1M for an unproven frosh or $1M for a proven soph or Jr. Frosh, like JHS, leave for the NBA. Sophs and Jr.'s likely stay for a few.
Hopefully its a dilemma for our next coach after the season is over.
you build your foundation with high school kids. you supplement with portal guys.
The issue is the staff (and other good teams) want and try to get these HS kids. They are valuable, so we can’t just write HS kids off and say oh well the portal was always better.
Need both. I don't know why folks try and "figure it out". Look at what UConn is doing and do that. They continue to recruit HS kids so they have some continuity within their program and roster, and then augment areas of need through the portal. I know they've had a rough start, but I have a feeling they'll be tough at the end of the season.
Another recruiting class taking a pass on CMW. I do like the kid they added but when you consistently miss out on virtually every longterm recruit, it's a problem. Something is not working as it should when you consider the money being tossed around.

CMW needs to recognize he and his assistants are not getting it done. You'd think CMW would change up something. Go out and find a top recruiter with an existing recruit that's nearly a lock to follow them.

Sisley will have no qualms about playing for our next coach. IU will struggle to get anyone based on film.
Yeah, keeping the same staff is baffling. There also has to be something going on with why the statue stays. Oh yeah, nepotism. And its not working.
