Feel free to chime in. I generally don't post a lot about recruiting, but it does seem like IU is up against Memphis for 2 remaining recruits in Watford and Quinones.

A quick look at Memphis shows they lose 3 senior guards and return just a couple who played, one being a 5'9" point and Lomax a 6'6" guy.

But they have 2 centers and a PF signed and a returning 6'10" guy who played alot.

I'm thinking they need guards as bad as IU does, but also, I'm thinking they don't really need Watford as badly as IU does.

With Watford at IU, I think he would do a lot of scoring from the wing and if Hunter is healthy, Indiana could spread wings and have TJD, Davis, or Brunk at the 5 as a single post, which is pretty much what they want to do.

On top of that IU has veteran guards who will be looking to pass. I think that is an appealing situation for an inside outside guy like Watford.

Certainly, other schools are involved, but I am surprised to see that on paper it looks to me like Watford would fit at IU better than Memphis and Quinones, as much as IU needs 3pt shooters, would fit very well at Memphis.

I don't have a lot of knowledge of Penny's team, so this is just one fan opinion.

Needless to say, Indiana needs guys who can score the 3 ball.

Alao, the returning 5'9" guard averaged 7 3PA per game and shot just 31%.

That doesn't look so good to me if I'm a 6'9" guy who will not be the featured inside threat.

And LSU is flat proven cheaters all the way back to Dale Brown, but certainly this unethical unscrupulous Wade guy.

Indiana would love to have another Watford.

The problem is I dont this its down to memphis and iu. I think Lsu is above iu for him. We are a very long shot.

Will be very surprised if we get Trendon. In-home visit a week ago last Sunday went well, but I wouldn’t consider us a player unless TW comes up for a OV sometime in early May. I’ve heard it’s being discussed and considered, but until/unless it comes to fruition I’m not getting my hopes up.

He doesn’t want to play where his brother played. It’s interesting that he wanted nothing to do with UGA which is close to his home. I don’t think the Watfords like Crean.

Then Why is IU in his final 2? If he doesn’t want to play where his brother played, don’t be recruited by them.

From my understanding, the Watford's never heard from the IU staff when Crean was still here. He showed zero interest in Trendon, which shocked the family.

I believe Watford will sign on with either Alabama as soon as the
new coach signs Watford's high school coach. If that doesn't work
look for Duke to get him with virtually no promises.
It's a good thing that he didn't commit to LSU. Come on, Watford isn't
going to play behind TDJ.

You sometimes list a school to encourage another program to offer you
more in their system. Especially if it's a Big Ten offer.

Duke just signed Matthew Hurt.

Watford at the 4 and TJD at the 5

They also have a SO 6'9 Louisville transfer who sat out last year.

We are in his final two? Where in the world did you see that as this is the first I hearing of it.

Why would you think that?
What coach would Watford have had the offensive freedom and success that he had under Crean?

Chris Mullin, Pat Ewing have credibility. How well they doing?
Kind of a mixed bag...a lot of these schools probably just taking a shot for name-recognition to separate their no-name schools from the levels they compete with...this is 2 years dated as well...

Penny > Archie

It’s pretty simple.
Really because they play in a weaker conference. They lost twice to Cincinnati and Houston. They didn’t beat anyone in a power 5 conference. I guess if you are an idiot then he is greater than Archie.

His first year.

Archie lost to Indiana St at home by 30 and at IPFW his first year.

Houston was top 10...hardly a bad loss...

I think we're a long shot for Quinones, and an extreme long shot for Watford.
But, I have heard rumors Quinones Michigan visit was cancelled for this weekend, although I've been unable to confirm that.
Anyway, we may have a shot at Lester.

I've seen that several places also, but no official confirmation.

Yeah and Archie took over a mess. Did Penny have the problems taking over in Memphis that Archie has at Indiana. Just stop with your crap because that’s all you post.

Archie did not take over a mess.
Not at all.
Nope sure didn’t. Team couldn’t play defense, turned the ball over way too much, didn’t have a pg because TC didn’t believe in them I guess. Had to deal with wasted schollies on players that shouldn’t have been here.
