anyone know how many scholarships spots are left for the tigers? They have 4 commits and have 3 guys they’re gunning pretty hard for... (watford, quinones, precious) there can’t be room for all of them right??

They made the same tourney IU made - that many here were gloating and giddy about - claiming it as improvement and validation of Archies coaching success and building culture!
And Penny did it in his real first year - not this year that some claimed is Archies first real year, although it was clearly Archie’s second year

There’s not one objective reason in the world why any kid would want to play for Archie over Penny Hardaway. Not one. Archie is a nobody compared to Penny.

Anfernee (I refuse to call a 47 year old man by Penny FFS) Hardaway hasn't even been off the flipping porch as a coach @ any level, much less around the block a few times. His only experience is a single season coaching a team laden with 6 seniors while failing to eclipse the prior year's record of the guy he replaced. Gratz I guess. When I was young, we dissected owl shit in school. I actually learned something from that. So even though he claims to be "teaching" us on these boards, I've learned more from owl shit than from fpeaugh. Also, while Penny was one of the biggest stars in the NBA his first 4 or 5 seasons ('93-'97), he pretty rapidly fell off the map after that (injuries), and wasn't even a relevant basketball player by the time this years' recruits were born. Most current recruits probably have no recollection of seeing Penny play. His celebrity status isn't much of a draw since players never knew him as a celebrity. His recruiting success right now is almost exclusively predicated on recruits from the Memphis metro area

Being a better coach is not about vast experience kid. It’s about providing value. And Penny provides a lot of value with his playing experience.
As a coach he’s a big unknown. But that’s still better than the known Archie. The known Archie is proven to be....average if we’re being kind.
