I did not come to this board last night because I was so upset with the game yesterday and I would probably had said some stupid things. During teh 4th quarter I was saying we need to fire the whole coaching staff and every thing needs to be blown up. After thinking about it maybe this is what IU football is and it will never get any better so why keep making changes because in the end it won't matter. Maybe we should just come to the conclusion that this is what IU football is and stop thinking we can be a perrianal bowl team.

I have lived through these kinds of games for 40 years and we have went through many coaches but in the end it does not change a thing. Except for 7 or 8 years in those 40 years we have been the bottom tier of college football and I don't think that will ever change. For a lot of those years we have had the offense to compete but never had the defense that could stop people when needed. It is not like we have to have a top ranked defense but just a defense that can hold the opponent to around 28 points to win a lot of games.

Saying all of that why fire Wilson because to me we probably wouldn't be able to bring in anybody who could do better because I don't see nay good HC coach coming here to take on this hopeless job. We are a terrible program who has terrible fan support and we can't get top recruits to come to IU. It is the egg or chicken argument can we get better and win to get better fan support or do we need the fan support to get better. With how things are right now we can't get top ranked recruits to come here because we lose and when they see a half empty stadium on their visits why would they want to come.

I am pretty much convinced at this point iu will always be terrible in football. For whatever it seems we will never to able to turn it around.It. stinks but its a reality.

Wonder what would have happened if Wisconsin would have taken this attitude we they were bad so many years ago.

We do not have to be a lousy team.
It takes time to change a culture. What happens from here will be the determination on if the culture of the program has changed. If the team packs it in and checks out then I think it is time for a change but if they keep fighting and playing hard then I would be inclined to grant Wilson an extension which has a very nominal buyout clause.

Yesterday was a tough pill to swallow but as bad as it was I still think this program is heading in the right direction.

I wonder if we would all have felt differently if this would have been a back and forth shootout with Rutgers getting that ball last?
