Maybe we should just come to the conclusion

I did not come to this board last night because I was so upset with the game yesterday and I would probably had said some stupid things. During teh 4th quarter I was saying we need to fire the whole coaching staff and every thing needs to be blown up. After thinking about it maybe this is what IU football is and it will never get any better so why keep making changes because in the end it won't matter.

I have lived through these kinds of games for 40 years and we have went through many coaches but in the end it does not change a thing. Except for 7 or 8 years in those 40 years we have been the bottom tier of college football and I don't think that will ever change. For a lot of those years we have had the offense to compete but never had the defense that could stop people when needed. It is not like we have to have a top ranked defense but just a defense that can hold the opponent to around 28 points to win a lot of games.

Saying all of that why fire Wilson because to me we probably wouldn't be able to bring in anybody who could do better because I don't see nay good HC coach coming here to take on this hopeless job. We are a terrible program who has terrible fan support and we can't get top recruits to come to IU. It is the egg or chicken argument can we get better and win to get better fan support or do we need the fan support to get better. With how things are right now we can't get top ranked recruits to come here because we lose and when they see a half empty stadium on their visits why would they want to come.

Agree completely. I don't like it any more than anyone else, but I'm too old not to be a realist. Our problems don't begin with coaching at all. It's IU that's the problem, and their so called fans. People didn't support this program when we were winning. I sat through every home game Mallory coached and the stadium was virtually never full unless OSU bought up the tickets. Students don't come, locals don't come...its a joke. Until the culture changes, nothing else will.

This is insulting to the dwindling fan base that has supported this garbage through thick and thin.

I find it incomprehensible that a coaching staff cannot play intelligent football for 20 minutes with a 25 point lead. I get being aggressive...this head. This so-called coach doesn't (never has) understood the fine line between staying on the attack and being reckless. Take your shots but be smart.
All this talk of the guy being some offensive genius is laughable! He cannot call a 3-1 down to save his ass!
