Marlon Flemming Passes

Sad news indeed. From the info in the link it looks like he has a bright eternity to look forward to.
I remember passing him going to class a few times. What a mountain of a man! I was glad he was moved from DT to OT because he really helped our offesive line. Great memories of him helping us get to the Holiday Bowl. RIP Big "M".

6' tall and about as wide. HUGE. I remember one time

Marlon had an opposing QB in his sights and was closing in on him. The kid just dropped to the ground, rather than get crushed by him.

I passed him walking to class a few times - he pretty much took up the whole sidewalk.

His obit is wrong - it wasn't the Liberty Bowl.....

I didn't think the Elephant I was played until the '75 season

The elephant was Bill ???? .... a neighbor at Heritage Apts on Hillside Dr....but his last name escapes me today.

Corso's elephan I was a player named Bill ???

I can't remember his last name today ... which is sad because he lived across the hall from me at Heritage Apts on Hillside Dr.

Re: Corso's elephan I was a player named Bill ..... Jones

IIRC, it was Bill Jones. He was an OL that was about 6'4" and around 275 lbs which was pretty big for back then

Thanks

I kept thinking after I posted it was "jones" but couldn't find anything online to tell me that. I seem to remember that Corso started that Elephant I in a game at OSU.

Playing Mich State their anouncer said that Malon Flemming is so slow he

is killing the Astroturf. He say with me in Afro-American studies class and kept me from several
incidences that could have gone wrong

Marlon was the elephant during his years just not the first one. I remember once when Marlon was injuryed and at the goal line Corso did not run the elephant I package when asked about it the coach said "You can't run the elephant I without your elephant"
