Luke Haggard

IU has the talent on the OL to have a very good unit. I hope the new offense lets them shine and get the job done. If the OL shines this could be a very good season with the very good players IU pulled in for this season.

There’s been an ongoing effort since last season ended to lighten some of those guys up. Several of the two deep guys were given new goal weights and told very clearly that playing time would be directly impacted by their adherence to the new standards. Haggard has been able to get to and remain at his target for some time, but it’s been work for a few others. Hope it helps.

If he can play like a top 10 OT, that bodes well for our offense. Bedford at other OT and Carpenter at C, should both be improved. Just need a couple OGs to step up their game as starters. I want to believe we can have a competent OL, hopefully these guys put in the work to make it happen.

Haggard has the physique of a NFL tackle. I thought he would be very good two years ago when he first appeared.

This actually proves the point that there is talent in the oline room, can Hiller develop it????

He’s been one of our steadiest OL the last two years, and pretty durable, too. They wanted to play ZC last year but he struggled big time and then got hurt. He’s a guy they’ve slimmed down on hopes of improving his mobility, so we’ll see. I think there’s some ability up front but we aren’t going to overpower anyone or suddenly turn into a Wisconsin or Iowa. Bell s going to ask a lot of them tackle to tackle because the TE isn’t going to be as prominent in the run game for him, and we don’t have a TE for that role, anyway.

Haggard has been here since 2019... Most would consider this type of recognition as his having "developed"

You guys need to give just a smidgen of credit to Hiller when it's due...

Both Haggard and Bedford are on track to be drafted... That's about as "developed" as you can get...

Gotta also believe recognition of Haggard as a top notch 'big nasty' and the experience owned by Bedford establishes a genuine opportunity for the surrounding talent to uplift their efforts. Hope 2 or 3 take to it and succeed. Not providing shade for Hiller but with him taking on a personal challenge(weight)I see fingerprints of Bell already appearing. Helping Hiller develop a new outlook on personal and professional future. Something Sheridan didn't have the gravitas to ever attempt.
