I mean, WHAT DO YOU EXPECT..?!??
Knorr has gotta have BODIES out there to coach, right?!? How can ANY defense lose 4 starters at DB, plus a guy or two at LB & a guy like Richardson at DL and THEN lose seven MORE just before game time (!) in game # 1, and STILL be judged by the same ole, "oh, well, it looks like IU is gonna be weak on defense again"....???
Sheesh, critics-----> grow a brain, please...!
Everyone knows that I was one of the most cynical (and hated?) posters on here about IU's chances this year, but considering that one SIU TD was on a blocked punt (special teams), one was on a perfectly-called SIU play on an all-out blitz when the young 3rd-string (or whatever) safety failed to stay home, and others were just due to just fatique/inexperience, I THINK THE DEFENSE WILL BE JUST FINE, IF/WHEN they get "The Hoosier Nine" back....
The nice thing - to me - was the VERY imaginative play of the offense: sweeps, traps, read-option (even on 4th down!) with Nate running (we are not worthy!), and more downfield pass-plays, than last year.....(felt Nate was poorly served last year with unimaginative play-calling, [except for Mizzou game] restrictions on his running, etc.).
Bottom line: if they FREE THE HOOSIER NINE, IU is gonna be fine....
