Seems Avenatti's 15 minutes of fame clock has been extended or reset. Just 6-7 months he was a 2020 Democrat Presidential hopeful and #metoo crusader. Since then he has been alleged/charged with:

Domestic Violence.

Hiding millions in assets from a bankruptcy trustee while filing bankruptcy on his firm twice in two years.

Stealing money from a client to keep a failed business venture afloat.

Lying on a bank application(s) for millions of dollars in loans and providing false/doctored tax returns.

Attempting to extort Nike.

Adding all that to being unceremoniously fired by his porn client who accused him of trying to do some underhanded things to her IIRC.

That's a precipitous fall, and in a very short period of time. I honestly doubt this guy could get a job as an Uber/Lyft driver @ this point.

You forgot submitting made up affidavits to Congress....

Even Stormy Daniels terminated her relationship with him a couple of weeks ago. A year ago Avanetti seemed set-up for life. Trump is having a good week.

Yes I did lol, I wonder what Grassley and Kavanaugh are thinking about now.

Honestly this guy isn't just dirty, he is filthy. If I were one of his former partners, employers or clients I would be worried to death right now. Just based on what we know he has done in the past year or so, just imagine what a full accounting and investigation of his past 2 decades might look like. This is just a peek under one corner of the tarp.../end_leftist_styled_rant. ;)

Well, if our short, past history is any kind of indicator, I'd say he is setting up all the qualifications to be a candidate for POTUS.......

If you can't beat 'em, go high .. or something.

Wow.... CNN ...

“A suspected co-conspirator working alongside Avenatti was identified Monday afternoon by The Associated Press and The Wall Street Journal as Mark Geragos, who has represented celebrities including Michael Jackson and -- more recently -- "Empire" star Jussie Smollett. Geragos also was a CNN contributor.”

Sounds like he does have some actual dirt on Nike though. Could get interesting. However the NCAA has no spine so ultimately no matter how much dirt is there they will do nothing to the Nike schools.

Meanwhile, creepy, porn-consuming Christians who put a creepy, pornstar raw-dogging conman in the White House wallow in self-righteousness.

Kapernick's attorney also embroiled in the charges. You can't make this shit up.

But on March 15, federal prosecutors allege, Mr. Geragos tried to arrange a discreet meeting of a different kind between Nike and another controversial client. Speaking on the phone with an outside attorney for Nike, prosecutors say, he sought to arrange a meeting between the company and Michael Avenatti, best known as an attorney for adult-film actress Stormy Daniels.

Mr. Geragos emerged Monday as a key figure in extortion charges federal prosecutors brought against Mr. Avenatti. Although Mr. Geragos—identified only as an anonymous co-conspirator—was not charged in the complaint unsealed Monday, prosecutors have detailed an alleged scheme in which he worked with Mr. Avenatti in an attempt to extort more than $20 million from Nike.

In the plot alleged by prosecutors, Mr. Avenatti threatened to publicly reveal evidence that Nike had authorized secret payments to high-school basketball players unless he and Mr. Geragos were paid at least $15 million to $25 million to conduct an “internal investigation.” Mr. Avenatti was charged with extortion and conspiracy.

This story must be like a wet dream for you.

I think it just goes to show how terrible the legal services field is ;)
BTW, to answer your question, New York uniquely has an automatic disbarment for felonies. The very moment a lawyer pleads guilty to, or is convicted of, a felony, his license is revoked by operation of law. Doesn't even get a chance to go through a disciplinary hearing and defend himself. Just "poof" it's gone.

I tried hard to rope you in but props for staying above the fray. Not often finance guys get another segment of business that takes the heat off of them!
