Logan?

Do you not understand the difference between playing and being in the rotation? No doubt he will get mop up time against the cupcakes. He won’t be in the rotation that plays in non mop up time.

Lander, Duncomb, and Leal were not rotation players last year. We had a 10 man rotation.
So, how many minutes per game does a player need to meet your definition of being in the rotation?

Yet, you are confident LD will play… clearly you know nothing. I should call you John Snow
I know ignorance masquerading as arrogance when I see it, so there's that. But by all means, knock yourself out.

I'd start a collection to send you back to the Premium Board but then we'd miss out on all your divine insights:
Woodson was an experiment at best. He wasn’t qualified for the position he was given. They are more likely to pull the plug in this experiment more quickly than a coach with actual college basketball coaching experience.

Not that our athletic department is competent enough to hire a good coach after him.

He’s definitely in over his head. That’s easy to see. He assembled a team full of players from losing programs. In other words, this team is full of a bunch of losers. Coaching staff included.

Gut the team and bring in a new coach.

Agreed. Dude is clueless.

If we want to be final 4 good, Race comes off the bench and Malik starts IMO

Obviously that is a huge ask and not that probable, but if he can out play Race.... Kinda like Lightfoot for KU last year.

wouldn't surprise me if TJD, MR, and JG, aren't our most productive front court by the end of next yr, but then i've never seen Banks at all, and MR only against high end HS players.

shooting is something players do improve on with age.

how much Race improves there i'd think will say a lot in how many mins he gets.

some players will never be shooters. but i don't see Race as doomed to that fate.

he has a decent looking shot, and i think shot it ok in HS, so hopefully he makes that jump this coming yr.

JG's shot was looking pretty good by late last yr, and getting better with every game.

Race will start, but we will still be good with Reneau coming off the bench.

Funny you had similar sentiments about Bates last year.

If IU gets to the final 4, Race will be a huge reason why. Especially if he can shoot mid 30s from 3.

This is too easy every year. Rinse, wash, repeat.

You need all American level talent to get to the final 4. Tamar has that ability. I’m just as high on him now as I was.

He wasn’t close to playing last year as a freshman big, and will be less likely to play after a year of development? Sound logic lol.

IU fans forgot what it’s like to recruit well and actually be good. You know why Race Thompson played early in his career? Because IU sucked and the shitty desperate coaches needed him to play.

When it comes to winning a college basketball game, Logan is ahead of Malik right now. How Woody has to balance other expectations, etc, etc will be the only question on who plays. One of them will need to be on the floor at times when Trayce is out.

Only thing you need to see from a freshman backup big is that he has good hands, feet, and feel. Logan showed that the few times he played last year.

Wisconsin has been beating the brakes off IU for two decades with recruits like Duncomb.
Duncomb is ahead of Malik because he has a year head start? We don't know how Duncomb competes against B1G level talent. Duncomb played a few minutes in a game I attended. He looked decent against the talent he was playing against. Priller held his own when he played in similar situations. It doesn't tell us anything about his readiness to play, then or now.

Malik hasn't played a minute. JHS is also unproven at the college level. I'm betting on these two unknowns over a player that didn't earn playing time against NW when we had 7-8 scholarship players available.

IU had 10 Players that averaged 10+ minutes/Game last Season with Lander (9.2) and Durr (7.4) also logging minutes that weren't strictly in 'garbage' time. That makes for a 12-man rotation so 13 is hardly a reach. Have to feed the dogs and Woodson doesn't strike me as one who let's his go hungry.
sometimes, as In Landers case, the minutes per game stat is deceiving. The year end stats showed he played around 9 minutes a game but that is only for the 13 (out of 35) games in which he played. His total minutes divided by 35 games show he only averaged a little over three minutes per games played by IU. He was not close to being in the rotation.

LD may get 7-8 mpg this year. With TJD leaving, NEXT year LD will play a lot.
