Liz Cheney has the biggest balls in the entire Congress.

Only if you're the kind of moron who thinks that all Democrats are essentially Communists. You're not that kind of moron, are you?
I know a lot of former Democrats. One man told me, "I was a life long Democrat. I did not leave the Democrat Party. They left me". And where did they go? They are communists.

That is hilariously dumb. Calling Dems "Communist" is nothing but a false bogeyman created by the GOP to scare people into voting against their own self interest.

I'll say it this way. Communists have taken over the party. They are setting the agenda. So if you are a Democrat and you don't want what they are selling then you have to leave.

Then fascists have taken over the GOP. If you don't like it, then you have to leave ;).

Both can play that game of creating a bs bogeyman.

I wonder what the Pastor has to say about Acts 44-45, "All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need."

Looks like some churches are sharing the right message.

I don't know where Clackamas is, but if I am ever there I am going to that church. Ah, I looked, Oregon. Unlikely I'll ever randomly be in Oregon.

He apparently has a lot of pics of his signs with sayings like that. It would be interesting to attend one of his services but don't see myself in oregon anytime soon either. Montana is the closest I have gotten to date.

If there were more Congressional Republicans like her, with a spine and integrity, I might still be a Republican.
There are more Republicans like her, unfortunately they're labeled 'RINOs' and summarily pushed out of elected office. The sane Republicans are the ones who are now lobbying the government or running orgs like the Lincoln Project.

Democrats are lol funny, never thought I'd see the day they'd be going gaga over a Cheney.

I guess they prefer their Republicans in war mongering neo-con form as long as they don't send mean tweets.
That 'mean tweets' retort seems to get tossed around a lot by the MAGA crowd these days. As if that were the only issue people had with Trump.

“I’ve been very hesitant to comment but since my deceased father keeps getting invoked I will say this: John Weaver and Steve Schmidt were so despised by my Dad he made it a point to ban them from his funeral. Since 2008, no McCain would have spit on them if they were on fire,” McCain wrote on Twitter

Sane Republicans certainly aren't the ones still propping up Trump's claim that the election was stolen.

I also think it says something about the party that Ted Cruz is the loudest voice from the far-right. I could never get behind a guy who didn't defend his wife or father against very public and baseless attacks and threw his daughters under the bus when he was criticized for being an idiot.

You don't like Ted Cruz. Got it.

OK - so Meghan McCain doesn't like some of the founders of the Lincoln Project and it sounds like her dad didn't either. I'm not sure what that has to do with them being sane conservatives.

It's not about who I like, it's about who's carrying the proverbial flag of the Republican party. It's also about respect - if he's going to sell his family down the river that easily and without a fight, why would anyone realistically believe he'd really stand up for his constituents?

I guess we need a graph showing the different levels of sanity and that are more than 2 levels.

More likely scenario, even back in 2008 she could tell they were grifters looking to make a buck any way they could.

Classic. Nothing like an effete socialist telling me what my "self interests" are.

Height of condescending arrogance. Congratulations.

So you don't believe in Biblical infallibility? Which is cool, but it is a staple for quite a few conservatives like Van. What Acts described is something far left of 99% of Democrats. I'm not even sure Winners goes that far and he's probably the furthest left of anyone here.

The Bible is a mere convenience/inconvenience for some Pubs.

Van Pastorman is a big boy,and he can speak for himself.
Interesting, though, that you would use a biblical quote as a justification for a tenet in communism. Considering Marx called religion the "opiate of the masses."
And no I don't believe in biblical infallibility. I think the Earth is a little bit older than 10,000 years. Having said that, overall I do believe the Ten Commandments are a good framework for one to live.

I think my real point would be that The Bible is not a political document. There is plenty in it to make liberal believers uncomfortable, and plenty to make conservative believers uncomfortable. But that specific section clearly promotes a full socialist if not communist idea. The idea that we are our brother's keeper did not originate with Marx. But almost no American is as far left as middle of the road Europe, let alone as far left as that passage. Arguing communism is mainstream Democrat is crazy. Bernie is pretty center European. It is as crazy as arguing the GOP is full-on Nazi.

I'm guessing you haven't sat in any public university social sciences class recently?
You might be surprised at the level of sort of nursery rhyme communist ideology that is espoused in the political science, sociology, and history disciplines.

I am gathering you have? I was first a poli sci major that switched to history a million years ago.

Good point about hyperbolic arguments. This thread was started as a post about a Liz Cheney. It quickly devolved into post saying that “all liberals have no integrity”. Of course that’s silly and is logically faulty, but it unfortunately passes for reasoning way too often these days.

Yes, I have. Two years ago. Took a Social Problems class among others, in which one five week topic was the "Great Recession" of 2008. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were never even mentioned by the professor.
