Ashley and Richardson hit back-to-back singles to put runners on first and second. Both runners advanced one base on a double steal on the same pitch Barr struck out looking. Toetz then struck out swinging and Fucci struck out looking.

Dezenzo hit a solo home run down the right-field line with two outs, similarly to the last game. Bothwell then allowed back-to-back walks to put runners on first and second. Okuley then singled through the right side and Pohl came around to score.

Macciocchi led off the inning and flew out to right field and then Vercrumba grounded out to second base. Jessee drew a two-out walk, but then Hopkins fouled out to the catcher to end the frame.

Macciocchi led off the inning with a solo home run to right field. After the home run, Indiana was retired in order. Vercrumba struck out swinging, Jessee flew out to left field and Hopkins flew out to right field.

Erwin led off the inning and grounded out to first base. Wilson then reached on a fielding error by Toetz. Wilson hit a high pop-up to second base and Toetz dropped the ball. Bauer then flew out to left field.

Dezenzo grounded out to third base to end the inning.

T6:

Indiana goes 1-2-3.

Macciocchi popped out to the first baseman Pohl behind the mound, pinch hitter Fougerousse grounded out to third base and pinch hitter Colopy also grounded out to third base to end the frame.

Pohl led off the inning and grounded out to Macciocchi shifted towards second base. Kern then singled to third base and advanced to second after Okuley drew a one-out walk. Todys then flew out to right field and pinch hitter Ernst struck out swinging to end the inning.

Hopkins popped out to second base. Ashley struck out swinging, but there was some confusion on whether the ball hit him or not and if he went around. He was ruled out. Richardson then struck out swinging.

Ohio State extends its lead to 5-2.

Erwin singled to right-center field and then advanced to second base after Wilson drew a walk. A pitch then hit Bauer to load up the bases. Dezenzo then reached on a fielder's choice to third base. Barr fielded the ground ball and got the force out at home. Erwin was out at home, Wilson advanced to third and Bauer advanced to second. Pohl then hit a ground ball up the middle and Macciocchi committed a fielding error. Wilson and Bauer came around to score to make it a 5-2 game.

Barr led off the inning and flew out to center field. Toetz then lined out to right field. Fucci doubled down the left-field line but was stranded at second after Macciocchi flew out to right-center.

RHP TJ Brock replaced LHP Griffan Smith

Indiana failed to make a comeback and loses 5-2.

Fougerousse led off the inning and struck out swinging. Colopy then singled to first base and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Pinch hitter Van Pelt then flew out to center field and Colopy tagged up, moving to third. A pitch then hit Ashley and Richardson drew a two-out walk which loaded the bases. Barr then popped out to shortstop to end the game.
 
That giant thud you hear is that of a team that has been fundamentally unsound recently, and one that is almost completely void of clutch hitting, and is committing errors at a rate like they are a Little League team. What a humiliating experience for the team and they have to show up again tomorrow for what will probably be a another beat down before getting on the bus and limping back to Indiana. They will be fortunate if they can salvage the last game of this series, and this team is quickly headed for the second division and no post-season the way things are going. Maybe I'm jumping the gun on all of that, but I don't think so.

I’m afraid you’re totally right. Hard to explain why the defense has gone to H. Pitching went from rock solid to shaky as can be. Baserunning and situational awareness is lousy. And hitting is spotty at best. So many things I’d hoped they’d put behind them are back and nasty as ever.

This could turn real ugly real quick. Kinda already has.
