After failing to get a clutch hit in the 1st with two on and no outs, we came through in the 3rd. Good job, Hoosiers.

Having to go to the bullpen so early in the game is not a good thing. However, it's obvious that Sommer is not having a good outing.

B3:

Bullock struck out swinging and then Molfetta singled to center field. Elliott walked to put runners on first and second. Both runners then advanced to second and third respectively on a double steal. Obertop walked to load up the bases and Mazur then singled to left and Molfetta scored to tie the game 2-2. Elliott moved to third and Obertop advanced to second.

Hmm, I don't believe we have a mercy rule in college baseball, do we?

Is our pitching dependable? It's hard to tell because of all the errors we make.

It seems like we walk a lot of guys?

Our pitching is not fooling anyone so far, and we do have one fielding error by Toetz so far. It's UM's bats that are doing most of the damage.

Houston grounded out to short and Ashley lined out to center for the first two outs. Toetz walked, but Richardson hit a ground ball to Michigan's shortstop, who stepped on second to end the frame.

Bummer of a start to the series. Michigan had just three more hits than us, but three of those hits were homers as they were able to do more with their offense. Two errors in the game by us, but they weren't the deciding issue in this game as UM just plain got more at the plate than what we could muster. Hopefully, McCade Brown has a better game on the mound tomorrow. If we can take the next two games, it will be a successful weekend. Nebraska could move into 1st place if they beat NW tonight. I believe we still stay ahead of Michigan, but just narrowly by percentage points.

Well, we are going to drop to 2nd place (barely over Mich) by a half game since Nebraska has an 11-0 lead on NW in the 7th at this time, and needless to say, that game is all over with the fat lady clearing her throat. Hoping for better things tomorrow.
