Bierman running out of gas? As I post this, he is at 100 pitches.

A really shaky outing by Stahl. 0.1 innings and he gives up two hits and a walk. Fortunately for us, the homer came before the single and walk. Iowa is using the long ball to try and get back into this game.

The next inning is super important. Iowa has 7-8-9 coming up and it would not be the best scenario if the top of the order comes up with runners on base and few outs in the inning.

Norman, Fullard and Adreon all have averages over .310. Not to mention that Norman has power with 9 HR's on the year and Fullard recently hit the solo home run to left-center.

B7:

Indiana extends the lead to 9-5.

Pinch hitter Vercrumba grounded out to short and Fougerousse struck out swinging for the first two outs. Hopkins then doubled to left-center and scored after Espalin singled to right field. Ashley lined out to third base to end the inning.

Well, three of our four pitchers used today have given up the long ball now. Another shaky game with the errors, now up to three, but fortunately we have been able to score enough runs to overcome that, SO FAR.

I like that scoreboard. Not sure we deserve a W when we have terrible base running and HS fielding, but I’ll take it if they can get 3 more outs.

If Rutgers holds on for the sweep in Lincoln, then we would move into 1st place, and with Michigan losing the first game of their double-header, it won't matter if they win the second game since they would still be behind us. I'm somewhat shocked that Neb would get swept by Rutgers, especially at home.

T9:

Adreon flied out to left field and Martin struck out looking. Nedved then doubled down the left-field line and scored after Sosa doubled to right-center to cut the deficit to 12-8. However, Wallace grounded out to shortstop to end the game.

Indiana wins 12-8 and wins the rubber match today, taking the series.

Rutgers has increased their lead to 5-0 with a run in the top of the 9th, and they are still batting with two outs and have the bases loaded.

Up to 110 in Live RPI.
Going into the Iowa series, we were 0-4 in Quadrant 1 wins thanks to getting swept by OSU. After the series win against Iowa, we are now 2-5 which should help the RPI out some.

Hoosiers in first place as Huskers are swept at home (by Rutgers) for first time since 2009.

Despite taking the Iowa series, not clear where we stand against Quad 1 teams. Two wins, but two leading starters surrendered a lot of runs, some due to a sudden rash of errors. Hitters came through, but had to overcome three pickoffs. Happy to have the wins, but the hurdles ahead get bigger and bigger.
