"Seem to approve". What choice do they have.

Does Hong Kong seem to approve? Do the Uighars seem to approve? Did the people slaughtered at Tienanmen Square seem to approve?

For a while, the Soviet Union was supposed to be the new government model We see how that turned out.
We have choice, but complain anyway.

Think we might be spoiled?

Well, I think we have freedome to complain, don't we? Isn't that the whole point of being free?

No, I don't think we're spoiled. I don't think comparing our system to a totalitarian system is being spoiled.

Complaining which leads to solutions makes free speech and freedom effective.

When complaining only divides us and prevents us from finding solutions, then we waste our freedoms and just end up frustrated.

Do you want to try to get the DOJ to go after Saturday Night Live, if they make fun of the POTUS?

Again, more bullshit rumor from lib rags.

Aren't you even the least bit embarrassed?

two sources from WITHIN THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION

Sure, they are unnamed. I would like it better if they were named.

But based on Trump's own tweets on the subject, it would actually be much MORE surprising if he DIDN'T call people up at the DOJ and ask them to help him.

Typical. And you take the word of that rag that the sources are WITHIN THE ADMINISTRATION.

Of course, you also believed the Russia Collusion hoax and the Steele Dossier.

You'd think you'd stop with the hysteria, but no - you can't help yourself.

If you had any self-awareness at all, you'd be embarrassed.

DNC, I see DJT as a strong contender for 2024 and a current spokesman for the GOP with a majority of his party still pulling for him and listening closely to everything he says.

Unlike Hillary after her loss when she dropped off the face of the earth.

So DJT may no longer be president except in his own mind, and the minds of many others... but he remains a force to be reckoned with and the Dems know it.

McM66, is Desantis all about Trump's policies without Trump's "insane remarks" which makes him as an attractive candidate in your view?

What are those policies which turn you on ?

I don’t know hoot. He Is young and super smart, but also petty and a little creepy. I don’t love him as a candidate but yes he’s a better version of trump I guess. Generally I like his approach to Covid, his take on taxes and spending, federalism, all the usual stuff. selfishly his take on online sales.

The incentives for vaccine are too white, middle/upper class, and might be systematically racist. Free scholarships, Starbucks cards, hunting and fishing gear, groceries won't cut it.

Incentives need to be new wheels and speakers for your ride, certificates to tattoo and nail salons, malt liquor, recreational pot, skateboards, baggy jeans, hoodies and for those in St Louis, free ammunition. Maybe let people keep the needle for future use. Ya gotta reach the demographic that's avoiding the vaccine.

Edited and made better.

Meh. I'd call it more of a vicious circle. Trump says / does something stupid / inflammatory, media reports it / complains about it, clicks generated, Trump sees the bad coverage and bitches about how unfair it is while at the same time saying something stupid / inflammatory. Rinse. Repeat.

I mean, he was the leader of the free world. His public statements are things the news is going to cover. You can complain that the media turned into a Trump-24-hour news cycle, but at the end of the day, Trump is the one who always initiated the cycle by saying something stupid.

Since Trump has been removed from his pulpit of both Twitter and presidential podium, his opportunities to say stupid things publicly has dropped significantly and the media's chance to bitch about it has decreased accordingly.

People are no longer looking to the press to get informed, just entertained. That's a dynamic they chose to create and gave up their credibility in the process.

Competent leadership is boring.

It used to be almost required to check up on the news daily (if not hourly) to see what goofy thing Lex Loser had to say.

But now there are no daily off-the-rails tweets, racist attacks, or deranged conspiracy theories.

This. They have outright lied about and censored quite a few things the past few years so why would you turn to "mainstream media" to get the truth. And it is not like scandal is not there to be had, it is just that the majority of the media is a cheerleader for the party currently in charge, so things that would have been huge news with nonstop coverage for the last administration are barely mentioned or not mentioned at all.

For example, Hunter Biden. Could you imagine if one of Trump's kids had a laptop that was left at a computer store and carried a bunch of his conversations and photos and business dealings and it was found that:

1. He liked to use the "n word" like he is a rapper.
2. He loved his prostitutes and getting hooked up with women, just not the "yellow" kind.
3. He got caught up in a credit card issue with Russian hookers (in the US) who he double paid and ended up having to threaten to get money back.
4. Had inappropriate photos and conversations pointing to an interest in underage girls.
5. Had self created porn videos of him with said hookers mentioned above and smoking crack with them.
6. Had to get the secret service and FBI involved to recover a gun that was lost when his brother's ex-wife (whom he was banging) took it away from him and threw it in a supermarket dumpster because she was afraid of him and subsequently lost the gun. (This is old news, but how many of you knew about it? And do you think that would be the case with one of Trump's kids? Hell, do you think that would be the case with any Republican running for President?l
7. Hunter lied on his gun application.

You want more?

1. Why is Jill Biden involved in, or planned to be involved in so many diplomatic meetings lately?
2. In these aforementioned meetings, why are Biden and more specifically Harris (since we assume that Biden is uh, unavailable) not involved?

There is always something to create scandal about or complain about day after day. The fact of the matter is that all of our news is propaganda designed to push one party or another. I think that is, at best, split about 75% pulling for the left and about 25% for the right. Given the left dominated the media market at all levels and their people are running the government, they have a vested interest in turning down the scandal and fear porn knob. And so their viewers go looking for other ways to entertain themselves.

Yeah there are, you just don't care to look for them and/or you exaggerated their existence in the past.

Also, you and I have a differing viewpoint on competent leadership.

Biden's gaffes the other day using LatinX, confusing Tuskegee airmen and study, and suggesting Latino-Americans are here illegally could have driven an entire news cycle, but they don't want to cover it to not hurt Biden.

Or the insane whispering...or continuing to claim that he is going to be in trouble with his staff for talking too much...or lashing out at the reporter for getting a question tougher than "What's your favorite ice cream flavor"...

The idea that we have competent leadership now is laughable. We have another gaffe machine that happens to be handled by people that the majority of the media and many people on this board agree with politically. So he can say all sorts of prejudicial or other stupid shit and they are a-okay with it.

Biden is a moron.

OK, I admit that this is a whattabout, but I just saw the clip last night.

Were you concerned about senility when, during Trump's speech Sunday night, he couldn't remember Neil Armstrong's name?

When he didn't know that the moon is not a planet?

He insisted that a guy from Ohio proudly planted the American flag on another planet, though Trump actually said "plant" instead of "planet". He needs a soft room and a supply of Depends.

cosmic is a moron. republican nut jobs refusing to get vaccinated are a BIG problem; maybe the biggest, but so too are numerous other groups including minorities and granola types and people who are young and don't care and people worried about side effects and people who simply aren't worried about covid and people who've already had it and don't want a vax and on and on. we're not going to reach herd immunity. get vaccinated, protect yourself, and move on. from what i've read stadiums are going to be full capacity and if you've been vax great no mask but enforcemnt is going to be on the honor system...so.....

Yabbut. they're non-GOPers that are dumb too so I guess 2 dumb people make a smart person...not following the logic here. African Americans aren't refusing to get the vaccine because dems are downplaying covid. The only political party actively downplaying covid is GOPers.

The OP is trying to make a big deal over Biden sharing excess vaccines when the issue with everyone not being vaccinated at this point has nothing to do with a supply shortage.

I think any objective person recognizes that the media is heavily slanted to the left. I read a NYT’s reporter note that publications could have have as many as 20 Dems to a single republican on staff. Look at academia and journalism programs and the type of students that tend to gravitate towards same.
